DD’s problem with selling engineer as jester isn’t in his lies, it’s in his behavior. The lies are solid jester setup, as is the venting, but his behavior is still that of a crewmate. Not only is he out information gathering during rounds, he’s the freaking VIP of the meetings, sussing out killers. And while some members of this lobby always play jester very crew, DD isn’t one of them

That was a generation defining throw from 5up when he was swapper. First he saw skadj kill and skadj admits to it, but believes alpha's clear. Even baycon had the killers figured out, there was no reason to swap when baycon had seen aipha kill.

For Jester. The difference is that you try to hide and not be killed as Jester. Whereas as Engineer. You try and go out there to convince people you're Jester. It's the same concept as acting like you're drunk vs being drunk and acting. You'd think it's the same thing but it's not. If you're acting being drunk, you're acting like a drunk man trying to act normal. If you're drunk while acting, you are trying to be drunk and not "acting drunk".

Exactly! In DD’s case, he doesn’t generally spend a lot of time (faking) tasks as jester, since he’s trying to stay alive. As engi, he’s not just doing tasks, he’s actively gathering info as crew. He’s much more active in solving the case during meetings as crew too. Whereas when he’s jester, he tends to wait until he’s accused or bait people into accusing him

idk why dumbdog is claiming desync when he's chasing steve, it's an inherent disadvantage when you are chasing someone of equal speed, they're the one making decisions on where to turn and you are reacting to it so any slight mistake in your pathing is always going to increase the distance between you unless the person being chased isn't running optimally (doesn't realize they are being chased, but steve obviously had to know)
