A mysterious island in the South Pacific was made from bricks of cocaine held up by buoys. There was 3.5 tons of cocaine. That’s a crazy coke float. Three men were also rescued from the sea, allegedly having the same idea. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with news on the New Zealand navy’s recovery of 81 bales of coke, one of the biggest ever seizures for the country, worth $318 million US dollars, and, days later, of three Australian men rescued after they were forced to abandon their damaged boat. Not long after, bricks of coke washed ashore and police found their capsized boat, stuffed with more bricks. That humiliating caper, that seemed to have the very same idea as the mysterious island. Maybe this can be the origin story for #CocaineShark.

Let me tell you why it was just riding the waves, where I think it was found and what happened with the guys clinging to a cooler. The New Zealand find had bricks decorated by four-leaf clovers and the Batman logo. It was likely dumped in the waters near many of the lower Polynesian islands, such as Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Samoa, over to Fiji. Police estimated it was enough coke to supply all of Australia for a year. It is more than is typically sold in New Zealand over 30 years.
