Solving Mystery of Cocaine Island Found in the South Pacific 🦈

The Mob Reporter

Жыл бұрын

A mysterious island in the South Pacific was made from bricks of cocaine held up by buoys. There was 3.5 tons of cocaine. That’s a crazy coke float. Three men were also rescued from the sea, allegedly having the same idea. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with news on the New Zealand navy’s recovery of 81 bales of coke, one of the biggest ever seizures for the country, worth $318 million US dollars, and, days later, of three Australian men rescued after they were forced to abandon their damaged boat. Not long after, bricks of coke washed ashore and police found their capsized boat, stuffed with more bricks. That humiliating caper, that seemed to have the very same idea as the mysterious island. Maybe this can be the origin story for #CocaineShark.
** Please check out my bonus content and perks on Patreon at / themobreporter .
Let me tell you why it was just riding the waves, where I think it was found and what happened with the guys clinging to a cooler. The New Zealand find had bricks decorated by four-leaf clovers and the Batman logo. It was likely dumped in the waters near many of the lower Polynesian islands, such as Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Samoa, over to Fiji. Police estimated it was enough coke to supply all of Australia for a year. It is more than is typically sold in New Zealand over 30 years.

In another twist i was talking with my father about the Kahu bust, My dad served in the RNZN for over 30 years & said there's a good chance he spent time on the ship before it was tendered out as this is the exact type of boat Hydrographic Surveyors used around NZ & the Pacific Islands. @MakoIsHere I am a contractor here, and I did some work for the couple that found the bales. They showed me photos of them back then, with hundreds of bales all down the beach. Was crazy to see them sitting on bales as the waves crash and bales for as far ass you could see. Obviously way younger in the photos. The crazy part was when they paid me for the work, they paid in cash with $100 bills from the late 1990"s. It was a $55,000 job I did for them. This was in 2017 when I worked for them. All cash job with old $100 bills. Was crazy working with them. Wild old couple that now own like 20 rental houses here also.

Well ya need a boat to start with and lots of money for fuel just driving around out in the deep sea to be lucky enough to find something,if you live off the coasts of USA your chances go up tremously compared to a sea locked land far away like Australia,it'd end up in New Zealand or Antartica before it reached shores of Australia just with the ocean currents...only way it ends up in Australian waters is by the Chinese dropping loads over the edge of there big ships

In the UK they call the method coopering. Transfer at sea to a more incognito mundane vessel, to then go onshore. Brian Wright a Irish smuggler caught late 90's was the most famous smuggler using this method. He brought multiple tonne loads to the UK for years and years. He was implicated in horse fixing were he would bribe jockeys to dope horses Brian "The Milkman" Wright is one of Britain’s biggest drugs barons. His organization smuggled hundreds of millions of pounds (£) worth of cocaine into Britain. Wright was known as a heavy gambler. He would bet £50.000 or £100.000 a time on horse races. But it is said he had fixed some of those races. When former amateur champion jockey Dermot Browne was interviewed by police he said that Wright put corrupt jockeys on his payroll with bribes of up to £5000 per race. Twenty-four leading jockeys have been accused of being associated with Wright. However Wright was never charged with anything.

I was waiting for this report , as where the 3 men sank their boat was a regular fishing spot for me. Their choice of boat was not the best, even at 23 feet / 7 mts it was more of a family boat with not much rear deck for "Fishing" with 3 men trying to get 40kg bags into the boat on what is generally always a big sea in the area ( 4mts i have read not the best day to go out) so most likely 2 guys where leaning over to try an pull a bail and a wave over turned them .thanks again for your report

Good Points ! Also if they already had a few ( lots ) 40kg bales aboard on that same side of the Boat = doh.. ol' Mate worked a trawler out of Perth, they would come back in if waves got over 2 - 2.5mts, and they were on a 54 foot boat.

Dear Sir, you have a hella cool way of telling the story and a great voice. I like that your style of leaving out the morality judgment and using a gentle way of describing ineptitude. I’m not sure If you subscribe to the less is more theory but your skills of not going on too long keep the story captivating. If it’s just natural to you it’s a gift and if you learned its s a gift so thank you. M
