The quadratic formula is: x₁,₂ = −p/2 ± √((p/2)² − q) In this case: x₁,₂ = 1 ± √(1² + 15) = 1 ± √16 = 1 ± 4 x₁ = −3 ∨ x₂ = 5 Why do you use the complicated midnight formula instead?
