Solving Suguru Puzzles

How I solved some gentle suguru puzzles that have just started to appear on the back page of the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

When you're compiling a Suguru puzzle, how do you know where to put the blocks and the "given" numbers?

I don't compile the puzzles, Ian. I expect it is done by a computer program like the compilers do for sudoku puzzles. Recently I have seen a suguru puzzle with only one number given yet it was still quite easy to solve. Roger.
