This is something that the fnaf community just can't agree on, so today I'm doing my best to solve it for good.

Ok so at 5:36 about the whole thing with the sprites, I forgot to mention that the sprite for the spring bonnie suit in Follow Me doesn't have a button on it.

Random Theory: I believe still Follow me happen after the FNAF 1 game and that the Classic design are the one dismantled to be seen as props in FNAF 3. But if people were to continue to take sprite inconsistency seriously, I did read somewhere on a few reddit comments that: At some point near the end the final months of the FNAF 1, the company attempted to remake and update the Classic gang suits such as by giving buttons to Freddy and Bonnie, trying different colours and fully fixing Foxy in a last ditch effort before going Bankrupt for the final time. It could also explain why Chica doesn't have a bib and why Foxy doesn't have his brown pants, because they stopped mid way through their updating. So that my theory if People still takes sprites themselves seriously. But yeah, Sprite have never been accurate for example, William Afton sprites being different colors, Michael Afton's constant skin color change, and the FNAF 2 minigame sprites, etc, but it does give a good idea to why the sprites in the Follow me minigame looked different.

I agree with this, and I wanna add another argument for your point at 6:20 The Follow Me minigames are an allegory for Afton’s murders. Afton lured the robots to the room to be destroyed, the same way he did to the kids. Springbonnie gets sealed behind the wall in both incidences, but as an ironic retribution, Afton is stuck inside that second time. Scott later draws attention to this fact in FFPS in Fruity Maze (by having William quote “Follow Me”) and in the HRY223 dialogue. Why mention this? Because this was when he was trying to explain MoltenMCI, he had to connect the dots. The safe room was always meant to be sealed at two different time periods. I think the tapes serve to retroactively explain why Springbonnie doesn’t appear in the earlier games. We know that a yellow suit was used for murder at the FNAF2 location, but the game implied it was Golden Freddy, not Springbonnie. That’s because Springbonnie was still in the old building sealed away.

its more likely that was fredbear suit instead of springbonnie suit in fnaf 2 because of the code 1987 in fnaf 1, and fnaf 1 location in 1985 location with revamped design, so willian in 1985 let the suit there in 1985 to 1995 his death in the suit

As I have worked with a lot of franchises and food restaurant sometimes when there is a change in owners or sales are down they will have a soft reboot called a “grand reopening” which is new product or equipment or bigger location so even though there are other locations with the same name this one is being reopened and for an eye catcher you add grand to it so people will have that in mind next time they visit

First, the souls originally lingered due to the nature of their death. Purple Guy shoved their living bodies into animatronics. And gruesomely, the kids survived for hours if not days like this, unable to get anyone's attention while the animatronic AI roamed around like normal. After days of suffering, they slip into unconsciousness and die. But they don't realize they are dead. Combined with the fact that they aren't given proper burials, their souls linger in this world. And what's worse, they are tied to their remains, going wherever the animatronics go, until years later when Purple Guy "freed" them in an attempt to destroy the evidence of his crime. In FNAF3, Scott wanted the killer to suffer a similar fate, so he contrived the springlock animatronic suits. The Purple Guy is trapped in a suit like a torture device and lives for days unable to move and with no one around to find him. When he dies, he becomes a self-aware zombie confined to an animatronic prison unable to control it. When you see Springtrap moving around in FNAF3, that's not the killer controlling it, it's simply Spring Bonnie's programming. In FNAF4, one of the interpretations for the minigame segments is that it is a purgatory. The children spirits there play with toy versions of the animatronics, directly affecting their real world counterparts. So the child playing with the Spring Bonnie plush could either be Purple Guy reverted to a child or (more likely) he was not welcome into the purgatory and is still a conscious zombie in the real world, now being puppetted around by the child in purgatory. Notice that I haven't used Afton's name at all, and that's because he was retconned in for Sister Location. That game basically rewrote the timeline, and so every little clue in the preceding games can't be relied upon to be factual. IMO, it's simply impossible to reconcile the timelines into a cohesive logical order of events and motivations. Those stories that Candy Cadet tells in FFPS? Those are probably Scott venting his frustration trying to do the impossible and fix all the continuity errors and tie all the lore together. The 5 things in each story aren't the MCI, they're the 5 games (not counting FNAF World). We're the snake that ate his kittens!

A random, unrelated thought/theory: are we *really* sure there were two missing children incidents? Hear me out: we know something happened during the week in FNAF2, due to the Phone Guy tapes. We also learn that, after FNAF2, Fazbear Entertainment decided to shut down, consolidate, and try again later, with the implication that they’re gonna use the Toy animatronics to repair the “old” ones…but wouldn’t that mean that the souls possessing the Toy animatronics end up inside the old ones too? Let’s not forget that we never learn the names of the supposed first group of kids, only the ones that inhabited the original gang introduced in FNAF1. And it also seems strange to me that the Puppet would work *so* hard on providing a “Happiest Day” to the Crying Child and the other four, and yet seemingly do nothing for the ones that allegedly were killed first, in the FNAF2 location?? Now, I know I’ve got a hole here: why would the Withered animatronics be so hostile during FNAF2 if they weren’t possessed? And I don’t have an answer for that…but I do have a response, in the form of another question: why would any of them until Night 6 anyway? We learn that “something happened” during the daytime from the Phone Guy on Night 6, right (I can remember if it’s Night 6 or 7, but the sentiment remains)? So why were the Toy animatronics so hostile before then? And if the Toys could be hostile *before* possession, then so could the Old/Withered ones.

I wouldn't say it's implied that the toys are kept after fnaf 2. To me it seems like they were just scrapped and any spirits in them were freed by doing that. That's why they aren't relevant after fnaf 2. As for the toys being possessed before anything happens, I think that since parts of the withereds were used for the toys, part of the spirits transferred over, and that's why they're all hostile during the week.

an interesting detail is that the designs seen in the follow me mini games are perfect match to the posters found in fazbear frights. freddy and bonnie both have 1 button and chica dosent have a bib on. these are presumably from the first freddy's from before fnaf 2

Haven't thought about those Fazbear Frights Animatronic poster but now that you mention it, they could still have an answer for why the animatronic look different though you would have to believe in different theory such as: Before FNAF 1 (But After FNAF 2): These poster could have been a potential artwork for the repaired and redesigned withered design hence Freddy and Bonnie having one button only and Chica having no bib. Then minigame happened and William dead and the poster were stored away for years. The dismantled animatronic are repaired again into the FNAF 1 Classic animatronic. After FNAF 1: Corresponding with my explanation of the FNAF 1 Classic getting a makeover as part of the final ditch effort of a rebrand before bankruptcy, the poster would have also been advertisement of some sort of the FNAF 1 Classic gang's makeover (One Buttons and No bib and others.) though they would not see the light of day due to bankruptcy for the final time. Then minigame happened and FNAF 3 takes place years later. Just know this is strictly my takes so there may be things that might not be agreed on. But hey, it fun to type these.

that was some epic coverage on follow me, i guess something else to add against using the sprites for evidence is shadow freddy who has both ears on, when in fnaf 2-fnaf 3 he's still in his withered golden freddy form it taking place after really explains a lot about the animatronics being missing and stuff, and that good point about phone guy's tapes taking place around the mci and when there were more locations. im also really stumped on who could've resealed the wall. Maybe it could be another person, trying to find william after he went missing after being spring locked. Actually, thinking about it more i guess it could be henry. my main issue is henry being around as a concept during fnaf 3, but since it is true that he could've been recontacted after fnaf 2, and he does seemingly know that scraptrap is his old friend, maybe after william's disappearance he found his location and sealed him up until he could figure out something safe to do with him without committing arson. It could also be like a paranormal agony thing that sealed the wall i guess, since after william did the mci, the wall gets sealed, him going after the kids would also have the wall end up being sealed just like it was in the past somehow(maybe by somehow drawing henry there)? well nevermind, its really speculative after the last follow me minigame i was also so sure about phone guy alive evidence placing follow me before fnaf 1, but this epic video actually convinced me that follow me after fnaf 1 is way better, no way hosa

theres some things i do find interesting and probably agree on but a lot of supporting evidence seems rather shakey and i still dont see why its after fnaf 1 even with most of what you said i think the safe rooms being sealed twice makes some amount of sense, the safe rooms in the tape got *boarded* up, which is a very different thing from having a facade in the form of a fake wall freddy's in fnaf 1 seems to be pretty abandoned too, it may or may not be, but whether or not it is doesnt make a difference for when the minigame takes place, it could be abandoned both before and after fnaf 1 takes place ("abandoned" as in, it is closed and its not in good condition, fnaf 1 location is just in bad condition overall, and the minigame doesnt really say its open or closed) i think the animatronics being fixed withereds makes some amount of sense, it atleast gives a reason for why they went with a full redesigned costume instead of a fixed up withered suit but overall, im just not convinced either way nor do i think it matters, and i think using molten MCI as supporting evidence for being after fnaf 1 isnt very useful, since molten MCI is not a confirmed thing (and IMO doesnt make much sense either way)

There is one obvious yet over looked detail that proves definitely that follow me takes place after fnaf 1 So if follow me takes place pre fnaf 1 why are the animatronics active and hunting there killer if follow me takes place before fnaf 1 it makes no sense why the animatronics are active follow me can't take place before fnaf 1 because it breaks Canon

Again the main issue about the buttons is removing an asset like a bib or a button doesn't effect the character if they already have distinct characteristics. Adding them on the other hand would imply they were a conscious decision to make.

If that's what Scott was doing, then he wouldn't randomly change Spring Bonnie's sprite from not having a button in Follow Me, to having one in the Fredbear minigame. That's a detail that was added/removed but it's just blatantly wrong. The sprites should be consistent, because the Spring Bonnie William gets into has a button.It's on Springtrap and Scraptrap. Also the sprites of the animatronics from Follow Me match pretty closely with the posters of the characters on the walls in fnaf 3, so maybe it was just one of the many random design changes in the series.

@@yoitskris But that wouldn’t explain why those characters still lack a button up till UCN, if it was meant to be changed. And the posters aren’t shown throughout the FNAF 1 location, and for all we know they aren’t even Fazbear created, they could be made by the attraction. And having a simplified sprite isn’t inherently an important decision, because even without the buttons we knew that was the springbonnie costume. Without the buttons on the band however would allow it to be any version of the animatronics, but by adding buttons he had to have done that for a specific reason. You can’t “accidentally” add buttons, but you can easily leave out unimportant details

Fnaf 1 was gonna be Scott's last game ever so the posters not being there to me isn't strong evidence. Also we see the casing of the classic animatronics in Fazbear's Fright, so we know that those versions had their endos taken before they were found. I don't think FazEnt would only take the endoskeletons of the characters and not the casing considering how they're very cheap and like to cut corners whenever they can. We also have to remember that during the time the fnaf 1 building was open, they were on a very small budget, so I doubt the withereds were repaired after fnaf 2, had their endoskeletons taken by William, repaired again, and then had only their endos taken by FazEnt.

@@yoitskris See here's the thing, there were multiple versions of the FNAF 1 costumes in the backroom, along with an addition endoskeleton, which many like to attribute to Golden Freddy, but for all we know, endos can't be removed from Springlocks suits, otherwise, wouldn't they have taken them out when sealing the Springlocks the first time? Not to mention Will no matter the timeline physically couldn't remove the endos before his death anyway. The thunder in the background implies it was all the same night. And despite being Scotts "last game" he's flat out said the only games with actual retcons are FNAF 4 and Sister Location. Not to mention UCN shows a replica of the location, and theres no posters there as well.

@@sh1zuh31 The buttons on Freddy and Bonnie have been a question on whether they are the Fixed Withereds or simple sprite inconsistency that no one paid any attention to. I did made my theory in the other comment that FazEnt. had attempted to remake-over the FNAF 1 classic gang's casing as part of a rebrand or something else, but were left unfinished hence why Freddy and Bonnie now have buttons if the minigame is suppose to take place after FNAF 1. And if those Classic casing are suppose to be the exact same one in Fazbear Frights, then the buttons may have simply fallen off from decay as they were a last addition. Just strictly my theory of course. The minigames taking place "Before" or "After" FNAF 1 can go either way.
