Thanks for this. I now know how to set reference for A at 432hz but I didn't understand which notes you are tuning for the open high and low strings?
6 ай бұрын
Hi! You tune your tuner to 432Hz middle A, then set the high pitch string (on your left when you play) to A bemol or A, and the lower string to C# or D respectively. In this tutorial it's A bemol and C# as I always play those. If you switched cello strings to bass guitar strings will be the same deal, just one octave lower.

That clears it up. Thanks. I had never heard the term "bemol" before.

I don't know the English term, bemol is from classical solfège but A bemol equals G#.

Thanks for info, I learned a lot, about an interesting inst. I like the design, looks like something I could approximate in my garage wood shop. Is there anything special, that distinguishes it from a two string Diddly Bow? Best wishes for your continued success, and fun with music 🎶🌎☮❤

xD it's not exactly a couple of piece of woods and strings. There is the neodyme magnet and technology involved to transmit the signal, the quality and the refinery of the wood, etc. It's an electric instrument as an electric guitar or an electric violin. The acoustic variants (ethnic instruments) have stronger bows to compensate for the lack of wooden volume that acoustic instruments offer.

Thanks, I was unaware of the unusual pickup design. I can see that it is a beautifully crafted instrument, and think it is priced accordingly. Can’t afford one now, but would like to make something similar for myself. I’m also well versed in electronics, so it would be fun to experiment with their pickup concept. Thanks again for responding to my question, and keep making and sharing your wonderful music 🎶

On a side note I have found out buying a basic electric cello costs less than a new Dvina. If you are very creative you could buy one and hack it for the components, then design a wooden structure of your own.

@ That is an interesting Idea, will look into it, as I do enjoy tinkering. Bought a cheep bow, to play around with, and your video shoed me many things about using one, I did not know. Valuable advice that got me lookin deeper, into how they work, and how to get the best out of them 👍 Again, thanks for sharing.

Thnx for the video. Apparently they are not making any DVINAs in 2024 so I had to order a Shaman.

I haven’t heard. Will look it up. A VG Shaman is double Dvina so I guess you should get one while they aren't sold out.
