Nice video but you did not guide the patient specifically to psychiatrist or clinical psychologist in majority of the cases patient patient can't coup up with the symptoms with out medicine

Sir mene dippression or psychosomatic desoreder ke liye ssri sertraline 50mg clonazepam 0.50mg 1manth tak khali thi. Jisse or mental ho gaya

People who have somatic symptom disorder have alexythymia. So they dont feel emotions at all. Can you please tell ,why cbt would work for such disorders when such patients dont feel emotions at all.

CBT focuses on changing perceptions about symptoms which no other treatment can do. Somatic symptoms in SSD are due to faulty beliefs regarding health, and other environmental factors are also responsible. Only by modifying beliefs and environment can one expect to change the experience of somatic symptoms. Alexithymia doesn't mean "no emotions at all". There is no such thing like that where people stop feeling any emotions. Alexithymia or anhedonia are barriers, but not major issues which would make CBT difficult.

@@PsyClinicTarunVerma what you are talking about is probably emotional numbness and not alexythymia. Alexythymia is emotional blindness , which literally means no feelings at all, although the mind might still experience emotions. So people in pain feel absolutely no mental pain because they have no mental state. So many of these people are completely okay with somatic pain because they cant feel bad about being in pain itself. And when these people tell their doctors that they dont feel stressed at all, doctors tells them the opposite that the pain is because of the stress these people are in.
