Brilliant, but can never understand why the owners stand so close to the finish line. It only slows the hounds down before line. They should stand at least 20 to 30 yards behind the finish line.

An interesting concept….. I suppose. However, scent hounds are all about skill, focus and stamina. Why try to put them in the sight hound speed bracket??…… Not relevant. Additionally, commentator here was atrocious.

These dogs are demonstrating a run for people at the races once a year, for 8 months of the year they race two or three times a week 8-11 miles over the fells of the lake district and Scottish Borders following a scent. At a speed that cannot be matched by other hounds. The concept of racing hounds is over 200 years old, so not a new concept :)
