As soon as I got the Tarot of Tales in I knew it needed a border trim, it's just crying for one. Might get on that this weekend! But I think the edging is another really good idea.

I too haven't paired my woodland wardens with the Oak, Ash and Thorn. However, I do pair it with ny mass market Cats tarot which is also Adam Ohlers artist same as Oak, Ash ans Thorn.

Absolutely stunning job on the distressing! I especially loved the Tarot of Tales and Ritual Tarot. 🤩 I'm actually ok with the borders that are normally on the Fifth Tarot, like it's just framing the image, but now that little bit of stark white is a little distracting to me. I will say, you did an amazing job on writing the suits and numbers on the End of the Rainbow, so I can see you maybe doing a similar thing with Fifth Tarot. Whatever you end up doing I know it will be absolutely lovely. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring us with all these beautiful mods. 💖

Less than 3 minutes into the video and I have to pause and gather my things to edge a deck while watching the rest of the video 😄 I learned how to achieve decent deck modifications thanks to your longer videos. Now, it's a (time-consuming) process I really enjoy!

Me too! I trimmed a deck the other evening and it was just sitting there begging to be edged, so I grabbed a Sharpie S-Note (not alcohol-based, I think - they have almost no smell) and got to it!

Those decks you're crafting (at the end) are so cool! I've been inspired! :) I've been wanting to create either a tarot or oracle for my own personal use in holistic healing work (I'm a homeopath, flower essence practitioner, and Ayurvedic consultant) but was stumped on how to get started since I'm definitely NOT 'artistic'! LOL Getting a deck with images in public domain would be perfect so -- thanks! :)

Public domain is great for that. Also just old fashioned collage it fun too. I think everyone has artistic talent within them and for a lot of people collage is a fun way to express it. It’s just cutting out images you like and pasting them together. 😁

I think the extra there at the bottom of the devk would drive me crazy. But I also agree spend time with it and then adjust as you need to. I love how you mod decks. I wish I could mod them more but coloring is about as far as I will go... the joy of vision challenges lol

Keep the messages at the bottom for now. Then, down the road, when you feel comfortable with the deck and the representations, you can remove the bottom then. After working with it for a span of time, you may find that you feel just fine leaving their names at the bottom. The changes you made to the cards to make them your own is just wonderful. They are our cards and the cards may even be calling to you to adjust them. :)

The 5th tarot - I didn't get it because of the borders and the backs. I don't like either. I would take off the bottom and I think re-backing would be way better too.

P.S. I understand not pairing two animals decks even if they have some similar vibes. Matching one animal- with one people-deck makes total sense to me!

I’d chop the titles off the Fifth element and potentially do the same gold sharpie if you need to add the cues (suit/number/court) like you did the Rainbow Deck. Really appreciate that you included the “before”s on your more substantial Mods. I’m quite confused by why you were getting hateful comments on your last unnamed deck mod… especially if the images aren’t original/copywriters materials, and it’s not like you are selling them. Trolls?

Unfortunately it wasn’t trolls but real people, some of which I knew who had issue with me stating that the deck was poor created as it didn’t use print-quality images. I still stand by the statement! 😁

I'm still watching, but have to pop in to say that 5th tarot is really incredible. I get your hesitation with cutting it all the way down, but it would read as an oracle so well. I don't think I could get it though with those backs and borders, but, other than edging, I don't mod. A bit chicken, i suppose. Thabsk for sharing your process 💫💚💫

All trimmed and working on edging it turned out perfect for me. I wanted to address an important question I should have put into the recent membership survey . I was watching your That Nine Card Spread you did with the Barbara Walker. You got a 10 of Swords in a top position as you wondered out loud what could be the meaning of this seemingly negative card in a positive looking position. Anyway this happens to me ALL THE TIME. could we take a deeper look into this occurrence. Lately Ive taken to reading the Reversal meanings into trying to fathom the complete meaning of this card. FYI, when I get the 10 of Swords I literally laugh out loud now because it is my Drama Queen card for myself, 10 bad thoughts I shoot into my own back, I fall down, How long will I actually lay there I wonder

Woodland Wardens? I don't pair mine with the Oak, Ash & Thorn either... probably because I don't own the latter 😔😂 But, if I did, I think the two decks look too similar (for me, at least)... I might try it with the Hush though, as I'm hoping to acquire this tarot soon. Thank you for the video 🙏❤️

I'm happy to report that you are not the only person who doesn't pair the Woodland Wardens with the Oak, Ash & Thorn! 😄 I am primarily using the WW with my Hush Tarot, Tarot of the Hidden Realm and Mystic Faerie Tarot, they play together really well! ❤

Hi Dawn, I would keep the bottoms on until the deck until you know them well ......then of with them....but that would mean also knowing the key word at bottom. If that was to much knowing the keyword as well as card. Then the the bottoms would need to stay ON as I really do like the keywords for that deck. Not sure if that was any help or not. I used distress ink on the woodland wardens deck just like you did but I found it wouldn’t dry properly on the laminate and keeps rubbing off on my hands :/

Oh no, I haven’t noticed too much transfer with mine. Have you tried wiping the excess off with a paper towel? Sometimes that helps on some of my projects.

Hehe there’s better quality art decks out there. I’d recommend Revival Art, Pensive Path or even the Golden Tarot over this one. 😆

Personally i would leave the bottoms on. However if the deck is an intuitive reader for you then take them off.

It’s just very distracting having all that writing. I don’t think the dislike is that the languages aren’t English, but that it’s cluttered.

It’s not the different languages that bother me, it’s the amount of them that are distracting on the cards. I have several decks in other languages and I don’t have any issues with working with those. It’s just when there are too many words it can interrupt the reading for me.
