@@reneedittmer9625 I guess.. it was difficult to listen to (personally) because there are a lot of lyrics that aren't coherent and don't work with each other, and it doesn't sound like a villain song at all (aside for that one book part). If he has a darker melody and a less giddy lyric sheet to follow, then they still could've showed his immaturity and selfishness, like for example: "Even if you live for free Don't think that you can't worship me I'm powerful and so sensible There is no one else as magical" In four (crappy) lines, you see how he's full of himself and deems himself omnipotent like a god without actually SAYING it. Just wish there was more of that in his song. 😭 P.S. don't mind the lazy lyrics too much, they were just scribbled out real quick :')

To be fair, "Hellfire", while undoubtedly being among the GOAT'S of Disney villain songs, isn't really a song of power. Frollo sings of his lust, which is ultimately a weakness that he can't even fathom that he has. Hellfire is more about a grown ass old man lusting after a teenager and essentially blaming god for it because Frollo sees himself as pure and righteous, and he's essentially fearing being judged by god for being obsessed with said teenager.

A good example of a proper villain is definitely Ursula, everyone’s talked about the major ‘why’ points but one good example is: her method of payment. Her goal was to RULE the sea, take over the throne and take the trident. Ariel had EASY access to the trident, and Ursula could’ve just asked for that as payment but she asked for her voice instead. Why? Because Ariel would be more willing to trade something she ‘didn’t value’ as much (skipped the show she was a vocal star to obsess over trinkets) making the decision easier for her And in the end Ursula forced Poseidon‘a hand, forcing him to hand over the trident BECAUSE of the results of Ariel not having her voice
