Some House Republicans push to send F-16 jets to Ukraine

Some members of Congress are pushing to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine as China weighs whether to send its own military aid to Russia, according to U.S. officials. “This is still Joe Biden’s show. The question is kind of how easily or more difficult will it be to drag Congress along the next time the White House sends an aid request down here to Capitol Hill,” said NBC News Correspondent Garrett Haake.

What is interesting is how the main western powers (UNSC3) have geopolitically straddled themselves at the top of their 'sphere of influence'----the UK reigned itself from the EU, and now lords over the "Commonwealth", where it hopes the turmoil and chaos they planted in the subdivision of the Indian subcontinent will pay-off. I don't think the US or the allies have stockpile enough. It is even predicted if the US was to take on China right now they will use up all it's artillery and missiles in a week. The US hasn't mass produce stockpile large enough for that scale of war. Defence manufacturing departments will take two years just to give back supplies what the US has given them. If China was to go to war against US. The US will have no choice but to use nuclear weapons as the US won't be able to keep up with enough conventional weapons.

It should not be for either the United States or China to decide what Ukraine does. If Ukraine wants to talk to Xi, then that's for them to decide. On the other hand, if China moves unilaterally in Russia's favour, then that is a very bad thing. The bad news is that China has a very big footprint and a lot of influence in South America, and Africa I rarely agree with the Republicans, but in this case I do whole heartedly. Even if we do not think Ukraine will need fighter jets, we should be training them in case they do. It takes a while to train up the people who will fly and maintain the jets, so in order to be prepared it should be done. Also, it is never wise to rule something out. That takes an important card of the table. If you leave it out there as a possibility, it keeps your adversary guessing. Biden has made this error several times now and not just in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. We have now had two presidents back to back who have been awful at handling international politics and relations, and that cannot be a good thing for our future. Unfortunately, I do not see anyone in the offing of either party who is likely to do much better. We are in a difficult and dangerous time, and we are in need of leadership with a knack for international relations. It is unfortunate that we find ourselves in this position at this at this important juncture in world history.

People it's not as simple as just sending them the jets, then them having F16 Fighting power. It takes time for them to get to that point. A plane is as only as good as a pilot is. No matter how new it is. Ukraine already has experienced combat pilots all they need to do is learn a few months on F16s to understand the aircraft. Maintenance they will pick up air mechanics arnt stupid. All they need is a computer diagnostic check for the aircraft and spare parts. It will take months for an experienced pilot to safely operate a new weapon system. It will take even more months for that operator to become combat proficient in the weapon system. How many combat sorties do you reasonably think Ukraine can fly six months from now with say a squadron of 12 x F-16s? In addition, the F-16s will not survive in the air defense Russia presents. US pilots typically would have enabling assets to suppress or defeat said air defense system to de-risk the threat posed by the Russians.

France is the odd ball power of Europe, unwilling to share power with Germany at the top of an EU even though everything runs through Germany, and the rest of Europe that would never allow Turkey in (for same reason of the region they exist in). And then, ofcourse, there is the US, the leader of the West, the great schemer of the fall of the Soviet and the hand behind the Balkanization of Yugoslavia, the liberator of Kosovo, the self appointed worlds unilateral map reader, amidst other more less grandiose tittles given to them by the many countries they've invaded---US leads the EU Armies under the moniker of Nato---it is the US, that seeks to subdivide Russia into little ethnic states, and swallow it into it's realm, piece by piece, border by border... Strangely enough the last great partition of the world took place in Berlin to---we are still paying the price for those arbitrary drawn borders....
