as someone kinda in the trifecta of hooded, deepset, and downturned corners, I've been deriving a lot of joy from just using 1 eyeshadow all over. Once you add in more colors it starts to draw attention to the bifurcation of lid vs browbone vs whatever. but just one shadow lets me look in the mirror and really understand where i want more color. and i don't have to make sacrifices for boring colors, I can just slap purple or orange all over and feel like ive done a lewk ✌

i do this when i’m feeling lazy, but now that i think about it, i think it suits my eyes most! the best thing is when you can just take a super shock shadow from colourpop or something and just smidge it all over ya lids and be out the door :))

I do the same!
@livymandonguilles4 жыл бұрын
My eyes are like that and I feel the same! What suits me best is 1 light color and if I feel fancy I'll add glitter on top. Also for the eyeliner I follow my eyeshape (it's not super downturned, just a little), so I go down first and then flick it. I used to do the mistake of going up directly from the corner and it just looked bad. Then I just line the waterline add mascara to the tips of the lashes so they don't fall and BOOM a lewk too!

Yes, I do this also and it really "traumatized" when a makeup artist onve told me "well, you are really supposed to line all of your lid". So I doubted myself for a while but I really don't think it suits me in most of the looks I do. But lining the upper waterline is a great way to make it seem like the lid is lined all the way.

100% agree that you have to change the “rules” or the “typical” way to apply eyeshadow in order to match your eye shape. I have eyelids like yours with a fold in them and I didn’t learn for yearsssss to go above the fold line but once I did I never went back to how I was applying shadow. Sometimes you just have to try different shapes and different applications to see how your eyes look with different styles. It’s just makeup so have fun girls, it washes off if you mess it up, but practice practice practice is seriously the best advice I could give.

My struggle is that my eyes are like yours, but the fold comes more out in the outer corner, so for me the problem is the flick of the eyeliner crosses it, not just the top part (you know, the "trick" of the diamond shape to pass through it doesn't work) so I have to punt it inside the end of my upper lid. Great tips! I have hooded kids and not much real estate so I usually shade my eyes towards the outer corners and above the crease, on the lid (some of my lid shows) I put on a light color (usually a metallic or bright color). Sometimes I do a wing but I keep it short otherwise it gets hidden under the outer corner of my lid.

My eyes are so hooded that I had people ask me out of nowhere “are you mixed with asian?” And then I have to tell the long and complicated story of my family (I’m latina, half black and half east european) lol.

People are so rude. You don’t need to explain your whole heritage to people like that based off your looks. That’s crazy

my eyes are so hooded that people have mistaken me for having monolids
@AlexandraAnele4 жыл бұрын
Do your brows come down very far? Cause I've always thought that monolids are like literally a blank canvas and if you have enought room between your lashline and brow you have endless possibilities!

Mine are the same, but its even harder recreating monolid looks because my hooded part moves so much/they aren’t even 😤😪

I cannot thank you enough, this is the only hooded eye/extended crease/deep set eyeliner tutorial that has ever worked for me. It's taken me until age 26 to get it right!

I wish someone would help me with my eye makeup. I have almost monolids, very hooded eyes, so bad the hoods stick out further than my eyes and rest on top of my eyelashes.

Please make this a series! Like a halo eye for this eye shape, a soft cut crease, shimmer on the lid etc
