Hello Kayla! Aww, the calves are so cute! The shop is looking great! I can't wait to see it when it's finished! Oh no, I'm sure replacing the floor on the manure spreader is a job you're glad to have done! I just found your channel this past year so this will be my first time following along all through hay season and I'm looking forward to coming along! Thank-you for sharing another great video! I'm looking forward to more!

Still missing my grandparents farm and the workings of it.

Yes - I was very blessed and thankful for Jason - or I probably wouldn’t be farming much either since my family’s farm land was sold when I was growing up.

Kayla, saga of the manure spreader, been there done that, as far as things starting to green up and windy, same in Wisconsin plus rain and snow only a couple of inches wet and slushy and winds gusting to 60 plus. An interesting fact since Jan. 1st through April 18 we had minimal moisture, drought conditions, yet N. Dakota and other areas 3 to 4 ft. of snow lots of drifting. A large part of the west and south are in drought conditions. So I guess we here and where you are are doing much better than so many areas. Cattle looking good, and hay season is comming soon enough. Sorry to see the CASE IH leave the farm. Keep on sharing, looking forward to more of your story.

I was sad to see my 52 leave but I know it was time - I am so thankful for the weather - regardless if I complain. It could be worse! We could be blizzards or droughts & fires.

Why did the floor need replaced? I just bought a 195 and the cross members are bent. I think they dropped a big pile in there from up high
@ChroniclesofKayla Жыл бұрын
The floor had rotted out - so when we replaced the chains he decided he’d jus go ahead and do the floor as well.

Hello Kayla! You and Jason make a great team!! Awww…🥴 never fun to replace a floor in a manure spreader! It should last a long time now though! We are still having freezing weather here in Kansas!😩 Blessings to you and your family!

What did you use for the flooring?
@ChroniclesofKayla Жыл бұрын
The flooring was decking - like porch decking from Lowe’s

Any issues with the Trex or what every you used? Trex joist normally have to be 12" on center, assuming the spreader was not.

Do you happen to know what model year your spreader is? I built these for a few years at the Belleville, PA plant.
@DJPLAST22 жыл бұрын
Do you have some means of moving the manure to the field like a dump truck or some kind of large dump box and then load it onto the spreader at the field instead of multiple trips back and forth? Seems it would be more efficient. Just a thought.

That's farming!! Think of it this way, you put a new floor in that spreader you won't have to do that for many years!!

Did you put a manufactured wood floor in the manure spreader?
@ChroniclesofKayla2 жыл бұрын
We used decking boards - if there’s a fancier name for it. I’m not sure. I’d have to ask Jason what he picked up.
