Always good to see your smile and hear your laugh...and catch up on what you have going on! From what I could tell, the wood that the nightlight is made from is cherry. It has a beautiful warm tone. I watch your shop everyday for new items and look forward to more pottery, of course! And Martine minis! We had a beautiful day today, here in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains of NY and hope you had a wonderful day there.

To me, Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles Rennie Macintosh both had a definite Art Deco aspect to their work, FLW more than Macintosh being aligned with Arts and Crafts. Edits added: wish I had a dolls' house to get that entrance door and I am excited to see that new commission house!

Oak Park is very early Frank Lloyd Wright--his Prairie Style years. (My personal favorite!) Prairie Style is one of the few indigenous American architectural styles. It originated in Chicago in the late 19th century and faded in popularity after World War I. It was influenced by the British Arts and Crafts movement, but at the same time was an attempt at forming a uniquely American architectural identity inspired by the flat expanses of the Midwestern Prairie. Did you enjoy walking around the neighborhood there? There's a rich collection of beautiful homes in many architectural styles! I think Prairie style predates art deco, but the aesthetics seem to me an evolution of art nouveau into art deco. You see the Louis Sullivan curves mingling with the sharper lines of Wright, and I think the contrast is delightful. They look quite similar, though. And this isn't a criticism of you or your knowledge in any way--just musings from an amateur architecture nerd :) Also, much of Frank Lloyd Wright's later work was not in the Prairie style, so the design on your little light could be from then as well. And a little vacation craziness gets ahold of all of us. You're sensible with most things, so no need to get too embarrassed.

@Bookworm776 I AM usually careful when it comes to what I spend the cash on 😁 but a vacation always makes me throw caution to the wind! Yes I absolutely loved walking around the Frank Lloyd Wright houses! Some of the architecture also reminded me a lot of Rennie Mackintosh of Scotland, I loved his architecture as well

I grew up in Chicago and knew nothing about these houses then! Moved age 18 to Nebraska. ... the night light, I call that buyer's regret. I say to myself, why did you buy that?! I think we all have bought things on impulse.
