I hope everyone is staying safe and well. Such strange and tough times, I hope this video is a little welcome relief. It’s a little bit of a catch up and a get to know me video with a some footage of pleasant interruptions by my little boys 😊 Enjoy!

Honestly, I’m one of the people who hold you on a pedestal...😫, not because you’re perfect but because of how I imagine you would deal with your imperfections. You’re a kindred spirit. You’re a human being with feelings and preferences as well. Normally when you’re a person that is always looking to do good and help people, some people use that as a weapon. They’ll try to gaslight you and your feelings by telling you that, ooh I thought you were a good person why this or that, or ooh why do you claim to be a good person yet you act this way. I like how you’ve set your boundaries. It’s okay to be imperfect, it’s okay to be angry when angered, it’s okay to show dissatisfaction and you can still be held on a pedestal with all your imperfections. Today’s segment was really powerful. It answered some of the questions I had yesterday.🤦🏽‍♀️

Joey Makini Thank you so much for this Joey. I definitely sense that we are kindred spirits of sorts. And yes I have set my boundaries (and I continue to) so that I’m not drained or sucked in by the wrong energy or situations. Thank you for finding this video relatable! Thanks for your support! ✨

Yeah, I think most of us are guilty of putting you in a pedestal. But rightfully so! My friend and I always talk of how you navigate life so flawlessly, with such a beautiful heart, no scandals doing so much for the voiceless! But yes, we acknowledge the (not so perfect) human side of you and speaking this out makes us more aware of it. Letting people in is great vulnerability and you have the right to decide the limits. Thank you for sharing this. I love my heros human. People I can relate with. And boy don't I relate with you! 💕

Kindred Spirit! Never been in continuous agreement throughout a video like this😂😂 Introspection is key at this moment in time when all seems to be at a stand still and we can all find a way to come into our own when all this ends. We all need to gain a new appreciation for everything and everyone around us;social justice and equality shall then not be just an incessant conversation but an actionable culture we inculcate through generations. Thank you Janet!😊😊

Hey Janet, great video. A thought about the clap back issue, I feel like being in the lime light makes people in general be hyper sensitive, like you said matusi is a no no, but sometimes you guys don't get the on a lighter note vibe. It's almost like influencers want a perfect score with everyone and everything. Even a simple observation is met with hostility, it's like the only acceptable comments are you're perfect, you're pretty, you're eloquent! Mtu akisema unakaa umeboeka, mute, block, delete! Just thought you should know...
@OfficialJanetMbugua
@OfficialJanetMbugua 4 жыл бұрын
Lizzie Wanene I’m talking about having a healthy argument on the timeline and then someone decides they can’t just agree with you, they have to insult you. That’s unacceptable and it’s bullying. But also whether or not it’s an influencer being abused or insulted, it’s not something that should be accepted. Are we hypersensitive? Maybe. But it’s our space and our energy so it’s important to protect it. Hope everyone does the same! Thanks for weighing in
@lizziewanene6942
@lizziewanene6942 4 жыл бұрын
@@OfficialJanetMbugua, thanks too. And you're right about being protective ogmf ones space. However I watched Lady Gaga's interview on Oprah's vision tour and she said something profound about being in the lime light, she said instead on hyper focusing on tabloids and people's nasty comments and clapping back, now that she's established the more you give, the more those negatives will take from you, shes now focusing on the blessing that is her brand Gaga, and the influence that she hers and using it to make an impact. I just thought this level of dealing is goals. Anyways we are human so a little clap back is also OK, once in a while I guess.

I have never related to any video like I did today and agreed with every sentiment. People should be okay with not being accepted and loved by everyone because of what they stand for and value. We should get to know who we really are at the core. Self-awareness and self-love make life easier because peoples' perceptions about you or sentiments will not surprise you.

Thank you Janet for giving the perfect description of feminism... Basic, simple , spot on. As for those who call us " toxic feminists " maybe they should check their toxic masculinity first. Feminism is a call for inclusion after being deemed as less deserving. We are more alike than different.

I really wish it was possible to discuss that on an open forum coz I believe we agree on the results we want but disagree on the road to that. Secondly, I agree with you.
