When you've given it permission to use the SDR, you can just press the refresh button and it'll appear in the list, no need to restart the app completely. The reason it doesn't auto refresh is the way USB works on android is downright stupid and it's hard to actually send back the info to the native code. By the way by default it should be on 300% scaling, not sure why it wasn't.

Thanks! Hopefully that helps a few people out there. For whatever reason, I never got Refresh to work to detect my USB devices, even just now. At 300% scale on my Note 20 Ultra 5G, the top status bar crowds the VU meter off the screen, and 200% seems just right. Pixel density of your display will determine if you need high-dpi scaling and to what extent. Hopefully, a lot of this stuff gets sorted out and we see an official release, without a lot of bugs, eventually.

@@NoahAxon Weird that refresh doesn't work. Honestly sometimes I'm surprized when anything USB on android *does* work... Fore the UI, 300% will be a bit more crouded but more usable. The SNR meter isn't that useful anyway so I prefer having better access to the menu. I chose 300% as default because that's what looked best on my phone (Galaxy Note 9). The next android release will be coming early to mid september. I've been quite busy with university so SDR++ development has been put on hold.

Can I install this on my android without a PC? I know about apks but just want to make sure I'll be able to use this thing without having to have a PC
@NoahAxon Жыл бұрын
Yep, once you allow installation from untrusted sources you can just download and install the APK via your Android's web browser.

I'm all set up, but it's pretty painful to use because you have to swipe a thousand times to find any useful bands. Is there a way to make it automatically scan?
@NoahAxon7 ай бұрын
No, but if you stick to 462-468 MHz (which you should be able to scroll through with only 5 or 6 swipes) that's where a lot of business and personal walkie talkie voice happens in NFM mode. You may also find some interesting air traffic around 120-130 in AM mode.

What does this app and antenna do? I'm very interested in things like this and trying to learn as much as i can.
@NoahAxon7 ай бұрын
It lets you see what frequency radio signals are happening on, and for some of the signals (like broadcast FM radio stations, and some kinds of walkie talkies) lets you listen to the audio as well.
