Some tips on plating the Penny Black

I've been retired for 4 years now and have just re-started my stamp collecting. I'm finding the different characteristics of the Penny Black stamp fascinating and hope to purchase a Penny Black on eBay soon. Thank you for preparing this video as I found it very useful.

That was excellent. I have 3 penny blacks and have recently started to look into trying to plate them and this will help motivate me to try and start. The way you did the video was very clear and self explanatory. I've just brought the SG specialised catalogue and just need some time to do it. I've also been collating all my penny reds and hoping to do that same with them. The format and style of your videos are probably the best I have watched. Thanks, Keith.

Thank you, Pete. This is a great and interesting video with valuable information. The more one get to know a stamp and its peculiarities, the more interesting and engaging the stamps become to you. That is what I experience. So, though I personally will not likely ever plate penny blacks I learned a lot about the stamp. Thanks again. 🙂

You can pick up damaged ones quite cheaply but you are right, it's an expensive business.
