Chris left the campers with chef to get help after Ezekiel died. When he came back he found the alive campers and told them to get on the boat. When he was going back to the boat some of the dead peoples hands/ souls grabbed him. He was infront of the surviving campers on the boat. They told the driver to go and did not bother to help Chris because of what he did. So that’s how Chris died. His death place is still unknown I hope this helped

I know that and i totally agree.If IOTS was something canon Chris would have cared only for not get arrested or anithing.
