Soon as you said FEAR...CITY PREPPING popped into my head. 3 years ago, Texas had it's Icepocalypse. the whole area had no power/water/heat. I was just barely getting started prepping right around that time, but what I did have was skills. Neighbors were freaking out... it was COLD. No lights, no heat, some were trying to light charcoal grills IN THEIR HOMES. I easily got all the attention because I had lights and heat... I had food stocked up. I ended up grilling steaks and chicken to feed neighbors. I have at the least, 40 cases of water...the 48 packs. I had several 55 gallon trash cans filled with water for laundry, dishes, baths, etc....plus another 20 5 gallon buckets for toilet flushes. My house was powered with a dual fuel generator, and with gas, it was easy to heat the whole house. We invited seniors and parents with small children over to warm up or stay pending their situation. I had a couple small 2300 watt generators that I loaned out to some seniors as well. At that time, I had a reserve of 50 gallons of gasoline and 10, 30 pound propane tanks. Now I have more, plus the buddy heater, tank mount propane heater, a patio heater, propane, butane, and electric stoves. I have an entire oak tree worth of firewood and enough cinderblocks to build 20 rocket stoves. I have a solar generator and panels...but being an electrician at a solar company, I'm already working on something much bigger. I'm also a veteran and mechanic, so home protection is well covered, and I can get any old chevy or ford running after an EMP. I've added a few friends close by into the prepper world, and we all have gardens, fruit trees, and even a couple greenhouses... One turned his garage and back yard into a Tilapia farm. Another is raising egg laying hens and rabbits. I knew that freeze was coming, so I had gone out to buy extra copper pipe, couplings, block-offs, etc. As the freeze passed and broken pipes thawed...plumbers were backed up for days to weeks... But I was able to show all my neighbors how to shut off their water...then how to fix those leaks. Don't just seek knowledge... become a teacher. Share that knowledge. I can take you to 50 mechanic shops right now that don't know how to rebuild a carburetor or replace drum brakes. If anyone runs up to their neighbors and tells them to buy 10 years worth of food and a lot of ammo... they will seem like a nutter. The key thing is finding a balance. Yes, you need your neighbors to prep with you...to have a plan... but you also don't want to be the only one doing it, but you let everyone know what you are stocking up on. it's a double edge sword. You don't want to be the have in a land of have-nots. starving people can go from kind to killer real fast.

Thank you for this awesome video. Yours is one of only a few prepper channels I follow. I had to unsub from a few. They were just getting insane. I believe next year will be awful again as it's a selection year. They've gradually gotten worse and worse. The agenda and decline continues. I'm freeze drying lots of food not only for when shtf but in the future if something happens to my hubby, I'd be up a creek so I'm putting away as much as I can now. It's definitely an interesting time to be alive but sometimes I wish I wasn't. I pray the wars will end and no new ones start but our overlords have different plans. Just gotta keep on keeping on. I am always glad to hear your balance. I am also glad to hear you say GET READY, it is getting late. The Middle East has always been handled badly; whoever is really in power has always made many enemies either directly or in backing different powers who handle it terribly I was told 40years ago by a former Army Intelligence officer that the Big War would start in the M.E. We need to rely on ourselves and not let hatred, anger and paranoia set in, which I believe the power-heads want. All we can do is the best for ourselves and those in our lives to get us through the bad that will be allowed, very bad, until the unprepared (and those of us who cannot bear to see suffering families on the streets), to beg for control. It will happen; it won't be all Mad Max, just really bad for a while. The Powers-that-Be have it all set up. It's out of our control,EXCEPT for the interim where it will be really bad, and we need to do/get what will really help ourselves, and those we can. And soon, it will be too late.

The world has been coming to an end every month for the last 50 years. It's never too late to get started until it is. It is too late to get started after the fact, and since no one knows when that day is (if ever), you should put effort into being self-sufficient. So just work on it, especially in today's global climate. Again, the only way for it to be too late is after the fact.

Morning all. This is just my thoughts...it is never too late for anything. Whatever you are able to do just puts you that much ahead of most people. One of the preps people can do is get physically fit, mentally prepared and emotionally stable. Remember, information is power and does not cost anything, be aware of world and local events. Be aware of your environment and the temperament of those around you. There are many things people are able to do to protect themselves besides firearms....bear spray, stun guns, non-lethal arms (pepper ball guns), etc. Water is paramount if we get any kind of terrorist attacks. There are so many things people can do along with or besides stockpiling food. 👍

No it is never too late, but if you want to be farther ahead, have a better chance of survival, you prepare as much as you are able before hand. Then if you wait and prepare for the aftermath of an event, after the event...sure you can gather whatever you can find to get along after the event, your still preparing, but you will have a harder time of it.

I applaud your efforts, but there will be nothing in most places to gather after any major event. As a minuscule example, I woke up several months ago to no running water, as we had a water main break. The affected area was small, yet, all of the local stores,(outside of the affected area), sold out of bottled water within 12 hours. Had it happened where there were many apartments, (there were more single-family homes affected),I cannot imagine how many would not have been able to find water. It's not like there are many wild sources here, nor do people know how or what to do, nor would they have been able to gather what they needed to clean water afterward, as what little is available in town would be wiped off the shelves. It would be TOO LATE. Once all the food is off the store shelves, it will be too late. Once all H breaks loose enough to cause civil unrest so that there is an excuse to pull out the Patriot Act and put us under martial law, it will be too late.@@ericarnaud7983

@@tonette6592 there is always something. Nobody said it was about buying things .. after an event you can still prepare for the living after an event. Chop, firewood, find containers to catch water, gather edible plants, etc...the best time to prepare is before the event and if the event has not happened yet, it is never too late to prepare. Any thing done before, puts you that much more prepared than if you have done nothing. I have seen people put up boards as a hurricane is hitting. It is never too late to prepare for an event until the event happens, then you have to prepare for the aftermath. I never said don't prepare, I said it is never too late.

It may seem like a dumb question or maybe even with a obvious answer, but as someone just getting into learning all of this, I would really like to know if anyone has any advice on how to determine who to accept into your survival group. Maybe going it alone will work for many, but as a person with physical limitations and health issues with only an elderly mother to share the extra burdens of a survival situation, I know we are going to need help and it worries me that I might be risking accepting help from the wrong people. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It’s very difficult to say honestly. Family, friends, local community, online would be the order I would go. Never share what you have. It’s like an interview process. There is a very good description on this in the book Survival Theory on how to do this

We may have missed it, but we have not seen a practical discussion of preparedness for the management of dead animals and people. Trying to think about it, we think that there are different issues to be prepared for depending on if you are sheltering in place for a long term, at a remote bug out site, or during evacuation. We cannot assume that people will be strong, healthy, and uninjured. We remember the problems caused by dead cattle and abandoned pets in a flood we were caught in some years ago. What would be recommended for situation assessment, tools, and supplies in these different situations? How should preppers of differing physical capabilities prepare themselves, physically and mentally? What articles would you recommend for a 'death preparation kit?' Would you recommend having at a physical site a supply of bleach or other materials to manage contamination and odor? Are there scenarios in which you would recommend a supply of body bags? Thanks for all you do. Your programs are well thought out.

@@PracticalPreparedness It would be overwhelming to try and deal with all the situations at once, there are so many possible scenarios. It makes most sense to start with the most common and most likely conditions that ordinary people would have to deal with. A lot of our prepping is based on the assumption that we would shelter in place in most scenarios; we live in hurricane and tropical storm country, and choose not to evacuate most of the time, although we can count on pretty common outages of power and communications. Some of our neighbors are taking a similar approach, so, although each household is very independent, we are working out a simple code with some of them in the event that there might a need for mutual aid. The system is to use colored cards, about the size of a file card, in a street-facing window, so that when one of us does have to go out, or chooses to go out to update our situation assessment, we can signal each other without forcing contact. Color cards can be combined to make a more complicated message. Here are our color codes: Red: Help - need assistance Black: Death in the house Green: Sickness or injury Yellow: Food or water shortage Blue: Stay away So, if there were a death, we could add a black card and a red card, or have a black card and a blue card. With the black/red combination, we signal for help, with the black/blue, we signal to stay away. Of course, if a household has only one person and that person cannot post the code, this system breaks down, but most of the households are families. This also leaves out power outages and fuel shortages. Our climate does not threaten freezes or blizzards, so the codes do not cover the freezing threats, which could be critical up north. If there is a death, the most common situation will be a single death. We know that we cannot keep the body with us, and must ensure that contamination or corruption are limited as best possible. If you are sheltering in place, that means removing it. Before removal, you must wrap the body. When a person dies, the body expresses itself, and the fluids and waste products are a risk to others. Adult diapers around the lower torso can help. At least a sheet or blanket should wrap the whole body. Large black trash bags or tarps would work. You must include identification with the wrapped body. Write name and date of birth on the body itself with a permanent marker. Ideally, you would bury the body. At a minimum, remove the body as far from survivors as is safe and possible. If you cannot bury it, cover it with whatever is available (pallets, scrap wood, mulch) that may deter scavengers. Remember to use gloves. We still maintain a good supply of personal protective equipment and have masks and disposable gloves. If the person may have died from a contagious disease, dispose of any contaminated clothes and bedclothes. Burn them if possible and safe. Keep up the good work. We know it is challenging and hard.

This was a good vid and I don't see it as necessarily off the regular beat. Yes, it IS time to keep our heads on a swivel. World IS heating up in more ways than one! Those of us who prep, well, we'll never have everything we think we need or want. Got 10# of rice?--you'll need 11#...and on it goes. What you want to shoot for on a continual basis is, yes, everything that was stated in this video and I'll add another item: being where you DON'T need to run to either the grocery store, gas station, pharmacy or any other retailer for clothes, etc, when SHTF comes roaring in (re: Covid and toilet paper!). And it will come roaring in. Warning signs may be there, but ultimately it is a roar. Examples--I never let my fuel tank in either vehicle get below ¾. I keep an extra pair of boots on hand. When one pair wears out, I grab the replacement from the closet and order another. Meds?--do what you can. Doctor will work with you hopefully...or get in shape to take care of that med if possible. Extra clothes if possible. They'll wear out rather quickly when we all have to go back to physical labour on a daily basis.

I'm always working hard to be as ready as possible, I agree on security , but it's not just getting something to protect yourself, right now I'm working on 6 foot steel reinforced block walls to harden my property, I have been working on this for a while, if something happens and I have to protect myself, it's legitimate self defense if the A hole jumped over a 6 foot block wall, but the reality is the perpetrator will think about how to get back over , it's a deterant.

It was obvious that the events, at the time, were weighing on you when you did the video, which is understandable. Any sensible person, no matter how “hardened” they are would have concerns, but here’s my view, for what it’s worth, lol. 1). You are spot on when you basically said you only have control of yourself and your immediate surroundings. That is one of the most important things to remember because if you don’t, it’s easy to go down the rabbit hole of fear and worry. 2). I believe you said you don’t watch any news and that is good, I don’t either. I suspect you get your news online like I do. What news I do read is only from the major news organizations, not something like Alex Jones 😂. I also don’t get my news from any KZbin channel either since many like to “fear monger” just to sell you things or boost their ratings. 3). It appears this video came out around the time many other well known KZbin channels were talking about the chance of a terrorist attack due to the high, unchecked people coming across our border. Don’t get sucked into that garbage because again, it’s fear mongering, as stated above. You have to ask yourself, why are they making those video’s and for what purpose? Regarding terrorists in our country, I have no doubt there are some here and have been for some time. Neither you or I can do anything about that until something happens, that’s why we prepare for that possibility 😉. However, I am under no illusion that my skills, training and equipment will be effective against well armed and trained terrorists. You can look at the attacks on Mumbai and Israel to see how well trained they were. Finally, I follow your channel because the majority of the things you talk about are solid without being over the top, which I appreciate. There’s too much BS and bad information out there already from people who should know better. Keep up the good work and carry on. Sorry for the long winded response 😂

One area not mentioned often..often enough that offers peace of mind is SPIRITUALLY PREPARED.. yes this isn't over by a long shot ..the Word of GOD .. the KJV Bible tells what to expect and who to seek for help and true peace of mind.. Romans 10:9-10 .. .

I’m sorry that you feel the need to blame the situation on others (people coming over the borders and danger in our midst; leadership failing. These things have long been here and will be here long after world global crises wane and continue to more crises).
