I won a large Worker's Comp Claim in WA State. My former employer was a public agency and they used actual police officer's to do surveillance on me. I'm retired Air Force and specialized in counter-ops. They were easy to spot. I let my attorney know. One thing these agencies tasked with surveillance do is place a chip or tracking tag on your vehicle. And then follow you around trying to get incriminating evidence once the tracking device shows motion. It's very creepy and invasive. This information was presented to the appeals court and my former employer got a tongue lashing I haven't witnessed since grade school!

Even after they deny the claim?

Do they do this in social security disability cases also ?

Blues Dirt They can. The Cooperative Disability Investigation unit will investigate when there is suspected evidence of work activity, inconsistencies in the record or an ALJ asks for one.
