I genuinely love the way FilmCow stories just do away with subtlety and subtext when it comes to anticapitalism. It's not that you aren't capable of writing those things in -- you use them in other places with great skill -- you just intentionally leave them out sometimes in a way that is so SO refreshing. In an endless sea of people afraid to say exactly what they mean and faux-cyberpunk media that has perfectly captured the aesthetic of resistance while completely missing the point, you are wonderful to behold.

@@alaron5698 Well, I was maybe thinking about some kind of system of organization where we eliminate money (because the profit motive is just a system of control which prioritizes and rewards greed and short term benefit at any cost), we eliminate class (because the domination of one group over another will only induce suffering and stunt liberty), and we eliminate the state (because any system that must impose violence on others in the pursuit of freedom must necessarily prioritize its own survival over that freedom, first and foremost, and will necessarily become the greatest obstacle to freedom itself). 🏴

For being so short and absurd, I'm surprised how much I get into his novelettes. The first one I read was the Professor Toothy book. I was expecting a few laughs, but not much more. But I felt an actual emotional investment by the end. In a story about a floating tooth! Jason Steel must be a wizard.
