Seems really surreal how David Gates star quality has has never dimmed in 50 years. That legendary voice strikes you with all the beauty of an eternally twinkling star every single time.

The emotion, the passion, the melody and the romance. No-one can do it quite like David Gates.

Another lovely song by a very talented songwriter. What happened to all the talent that seemed so plentiful in the 70's?

Sylvia Barreto and I danced to this song about 20 times during a party at the girl's department building of St Bridget's College in Batangas in 1971. I couldn't sleep for days afterwards thinking of her.

When this song was recorded the music scene was changing. Mr. Gates writes from his heart. He's a really personable guy writing songs during a time when men and women were changing.

I never understood why this wasn't a single back in 1975. It would've been a mega-hit IMO. One of my all-time favorite David Gates tracks.

i think because it is too short i agree the lyrics are beautiful
@mdhunter034 жыл бұрын
@@amcpacer2909 I believe the same.... if he had added another verse ? quite possibly it could have a single and a hit. I think music like this was still in demand in the mid seventies but it needed to be somewhat longer. I love David Gates, he was a great singer,song writer and arranger ..... he had a great deal of success and it seemed he was ahead of his time some times and behind the mark at other times with his music. : )

@shane01419 Hi, you know David's music is so great! have you noticed, almost all of his compositions the words are always in Rhyme. When it comes to writing, only few can really write lyrics with great words and rhyming style..not to mention very dramatic melody too...I don't know how familiar u are to his songs, but if you ask me...i know the lines and notes....lol....i really love this artist! he is my number one choice among a hundred musicians....
