One of the hallmarks of a good song, for me, is when it starts playing in your dreams. I am touched by these lines: I wish that I could pretend A gentle touch and a friend Could fix your broken heart These lines emanate a sense of rejection or the feeling of rejecting someone close to you, and these lines resonate with me. The song, for me, was about longing for someone, a heartbreak, or taking the risk of confessing to someone. I had moments where I doubted whether the efforts I make towards another were worth it or whether they'd be all for naught. Sometimes, I am on the waiting end; but sometimes, I am on the side of the one who is trying to make things work. It can't be helped to feel hurt when, no matter what you do, the odds are high, and the gaps are wide. The song is beautiful, and the lyrics are well-written, and they exude emotions that I empathize with. Impressive work, Patterns and team! Thank you for a heart-tugging song once more.
