Ford has a fuel pump shut off when in an accident. I think the reset button is in the kick panel. Can't remember driver or passenger side. Should be a hole to stick your finger in and push the button down. Hopefully that is what's wrong with your ranger.

It's in the passenger side footwell last I remember. This happened to my boss at an old job and we were able to track it down and get the truck running again.

The inertia switch is a device that cuts off the power to the electrical fuel pump in fuel injection systems during crashes.

Fluids can migrate up through pressure switches into the wiring harness. The brake pressure switch sensor is critical since brake fluid is flammable and can start a fire. Ford had a recall on those. Fluid can also migrate into a wire harness or module from the p/s pressure switch or coolant temp switch. I had a Ram where the coolant migrated from a defective coolant temp switch into the PCM connector! If it was brake fluid then I would unplug that Ford brake pressure switch and inspect for leaks! It may be called a brake fluid pressure sensor.

I didn't realize brake fluid would damage wiring. This is a good thing to know.

They only made them Ford 500 from 2005 to 2007 couple years. I think they was trying to phase Ford Taurus. They are dependable. You gotta get that ranger back up and running they are good small trucks. 🇺🇸

Most accidents happen in parking lots so it's a pain trying to avoid all the crazies, btw is that dogbone engine mount bad???
@ourv96034 күн бұрын
The Ranger turned off & didnt turn back on after the collision? Ford used to put a fuel pump switch under the dash on top if the hump which would shut off the fuel when hit. !

be aware, anything that passes near your car the cam will record. depending on where you park/live it can drain your battery over time.

this one turns off before the battery dies.
