As of now I've only heard Jodi's version and I Absolutely Love it. I'm afraid to listen to the others, fear that one of the other "princesses" might sing it better, I find it hard to imagine as Jodi I mean Ariel is My favorite Disney Princess and This Is the Definitive version. Just My Personal opinion. 😊

I was lucky to see this production at Long Beach CLO. It had the best book of any version, and I wonder why subsequent productions haven't used this book. At the end, it is revealed that Anatoly knew Florence would be double-crossed by the Russians, so he secretly worked to have her father released. When she's left alone at the airport, thinking all is lost, she receives a mysterious chess piece from Anatoly's assistant who says, "Anatoly always believed that the players are more important than the game." It turns out it was a chess piece that belonged to her father. She turns around, and she is reunited with her father. I was a crying mess.
@yackorama4 жыл бұрын
It made complete sense to end the show that way, so that Anatoly had sacrificed himself to win her father back. Our director had taken elements of the NY book and some things from the tour and Aussie productions and created this version. I'm not certain if anyone else ever used it.

We tried to put a reunion together 2 years ago, but Jodi could not manage it and we only had the rights as a reunion, which meant, at least the 3 original leads. Thank you for your kind compliments. It is a shining memory for us all.

@@yackorama Ah, I understand! It's a shame that there needs to be at least 3 original leads. Perhaps there will come a day when everyone's schedule and interests will align and we'll be able to see a reunion! Until then, some of the best memories we have are kept in our heads.

This is good, but I really prefer productions that have given “Someone Else’s Story” to Svetlana. It makes more sense for her character and gives some additional, needed character development.
