My guess: 3 wheel drive allow you to turn with no need to have open differential in the front axle. (fixed diff in the front don't work)

That is incorrect. Virtually all rc off road 4wd chassis use locked diffs front and rear, turning is not an issue. All though you do get better turning with open diffs, not dramatically so. Not in my experience anyway. I don't understand why they would not at least have an open diff in the front axle, it would be better than permanent 3 wheel drive. This is more of a toy car, and not a hobby grade RC, so I guess they have their reasons. Odd that this is the "pro" version, but I can't see any pro driver using this for competition.

You can use “Baby Oil” as a smoke fluid. I use that in smoke machine when testing car induction pipe systems.

The front is a very weird design. Maybe they could only afford to hire half of the engineer because all the other useless accessories had taken up most of the R&D budget? lol

Information found by HG original factory. The front wheel is unpowered on one side because the "straight axis" will affect the turning radius, so one side is disconnected and unpowered, turning it into a three-wheel drive. However, many people have reported to the manufacturer that there is no clear answer to this question.

The honest reason why they have just 3 wheel drive! is to help to tighten the turn radius. It will have no binding while turning with the 3WD. Love the channel really funny bloke

@@TomleyRC I don't think it would be difficult to remedy that 3 wheel drive issue. I think by looking around you might find a front drive shaft that has gona flat on it where needed. Or possibly even file down or machine it down to a flat slowly but patiently then you got 4wd. 👌👍💪

One thing I've learned over the years: don't try to understand why the Chinese do things, it'll just make your head hurt. It cost just as much (or more) to make the other axle diff as it would have to make them both the same and then have 4 wd. I bought a $20,000 flat bed printer. In the instructions it said "plug in the USB" it took me an hour to find where because there was a little hole in the case and the USB printer port was deep inside behind a shield. I had to use surgical forceps to get it in. Did they show how in the instructions? Yes, for a different printer.

The body has good detailing and scale realism but is only mildly interesting, the drive configuration is bizarre and the suspension is rock hard. On top of that, the sound system replicates a heavy truck and doesn't suit this type of vehicle at all. It seems it was designed with a lot of gimmicks such as the smoke system and LED lighting but as a complete product package it is not appealing at all. This is sad to say because the military trucks and trailers are actually very interesting.
