I feel like with heavy sleeper, it means that 1 out of 4 runs you have a chance to lose a character permanently at floor 16, if you have no dodge for Tarantus

I mean not necessarily, you could always clutch out a floor 17-19 where all your characters survive But yea its scary, and lowkey its a never pick because i am not good enough at this game to feel comfortable choosing it 😭

I like taking heavy sleeper, and if you hit good items even the worst case might be playable (going down a hero floor 19). Won a run with a red down against hexia once, for example. ofc you can also not die and then it's free.

they don't permanently die they just are out for a fight, somewhere between 17 and 20 you should have a fight that you can win down a character, and there's a lot of ifs - if you fight tarantus, if you have no dodge/death defy, if you run into 3 straight unplayable fights, it seems fairly unlikely

I picked heavy sleeper, with most of my power in roulette, and then had tarantus into a tripple fanatic two wisp one zombie fight recently that made me just fall over and die. I know i probably couldve played it better but its still made me much more afraid of heavy sleeper.

that is the thing with heavy sleeper. you have to prioritise some kind of inmunity against tarantus for your damage hero. If your run is a blue or a yellow carry is not that bad but if you are playing through your orange it needs to have a dodge or your gray a redirect

Talks shit about cart, ends up with a solid combo from it. Its not game defining like some teir 9s, but imo cart is better than most 1 side boosts/replacers and is one of the better picks for its teir

Do you think you could spend more time explaining why one hero doesn't fill gaps in other specific characters when you pick a hero? You said in another video that the way to play greens is to choose what is missing in the comp. I know what characters are generally good but I have a win streak of 2 on Hard and I think I'm messing up the 'when NOT to choose this hero.' Like "Hero A is great at doing 1 and 2. But I have heroes X and Y, so I don't need 1 or 2, I need 3. Hero B is usually bad, but does 3 well enough with this item I have."

Why is bard so bad? I feel like the shield to all + else comes in handy. I wouldn't play him without a red to support though

He only has 3 shield sides, and 2 of them are only 1 pip. He's quite bad at protecting people from overkill attacks, leading to more risk of dead characters. And else is often worthless since there aren't many characters with several blanks to begin with, plus you really don't want to end on a blank basically ever.
