Ive been through a lot of flashes split seconds, however you call them my eyes on my phone compelling me to re-call them. Back when when I was ten playing with my friends when recess began on the playground cops and robbers by the fence. Back when when we thought that girls gave you cutties, fast forward a few years later I'm staring at their booties. There were no race issues only who can run faster, no drug issues only who could jump higher. Going to school with them fresh new kicks, rocking some sick new fits, always being part of the clique, less complicated where the things back then. Saturdays in the A.M. watching cartoons at the crib. I lost touch with a lot of the people I knew, from high school, middle, elementary and my hood. I just ponder at what they do know, years later curious if they're still around.

I remember this girl back in my days in high school. Green eyes and light skin, I was drooling like a fool. In math class, wanted a one on one, yeah I was shaky and was nervous but I still wanted sum of that. We got together everything was sweet and smooth, swept her up just like a broom, couldn't divide us two, but something happened. She changed or maybe I did, attraction cut off I don't know but the spark just couldn't lit. When she was wrong I was right, when I was calm she would fight, she would accuse, I would deny, I would go out she would ignite, burning. Her patience burned off and we changed like the seasons and the colors of the leaves when they fall.

My mom had a dream, of me becoming a doctor, but disappointed her when I became a rapper. You know musicians don't make money, I know that ma, I knew that we were poor but I still felt love. Back when my dad had a good back, we used to ride around our bikes around the streets play catch. Damn time goes fast. Now they're getting older motions getting slower, nothing ever lasts and their boy finally grew up. Things changed, I guess I grew up out of them, like a transition from the summer to the autumn, became numb to the changes and the outcomes wish I could repeat those days just like a re-run, and make the same mistakes. To laugh about them from when things went from good to bad to bad to worse trying to salvage situations, and familiarize myself with them different adaptations.
