I am very sorry this happened to you. Please do not be discouraged. Unfortunately there are people like this, and there are people who enable them. I have seen alot of merchants who do this and organizers don't care as long as they get paid. Please do not be discouraged. Just do what you can and move on. Stressing on this won't do any good. Just keep making art and keep being the best person and artist that you can be.😊

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm feeling a lot better now after ruminating on everything and am excited to keep making more art and moving forward! 🥰 I mentioned the seller on my Instagram story at the time, but I don't want to bring any further attention to the parties involved. I'm just hoping that the event organisers will take the necessary actions and the seller will stay true to his word and stop stealing other artist's work. 🤞🏼

The third event organisers’ response made me low key feel like they were their first enablers, allowing them to get this far to begin with. Artists deserve to have events that fully support us and that was not it. How can they earn any trust from any other seller in the future? Actual garbage PR It’s incredible of the art thief to have apologised. We can only hope they either hold true to their apology or end up making art of their own. While it is sad that they just decided to end their “career”, know that it’s absolutely not your responsibility and they entirely deserved to get shut down. Them stopping is entirely their problem and you handled it so well. Wishing you all the best.

For real, such a baffling response lol (and I got a bit more of the same after they watched this video) 😅 It'll definitely make me do a lot of research when I start selling at events! I'm really hoping he can learn from his mistakes and find peace. Thank you so much for your support! 🥰

Stealing art is a big no-no 😢 so sad this happened. Good on you for doing whatever you can tho and sharing how you did it for those who might also face the same issue. Love your video nonetheless ❤

I'm SO sorry to hear that your art got stolen. I'm glad to hear that all of them took down the photos even though one hesitated. It's really sad to see that he messed up his credibility, it's extremely hard to come back from that. I'm just glad that he was apologetic. I LOVE Legally Blonde!!!!!

An Aussie! I wasn't expecting that when I clicked on it. It's a horrible way to feel but such a great way to spin it for yourself that it proves there is a market for your work :-) I had no idea that fan art is tricky, I don't know much about this field. I used to do markets (jewelry) and know how different all of the organisers can be. The only good side I suppose is that it wasn't someone big like Anthropologie the US store that is famous for ripping people off and making heaps of money. Keep up the work,

Yes I'm definitely a lot more motivated to make new products now and definitely looking forward to doing some events/markets! 😄 If it was a big company I think it would definitely have been a lot worse - I've heard a lot of horror stories from large brands stealing designs unfortunately 😭 Thank you so much! 🩷🥰

Put a watermark on every picture and design you put out and add your name onto every piece you make : after you photograph and put on you social media. Of course not in your actual art.

I've thought about adding a more prominent watermark, but I'm worried it'll obscure the images too much!

@_abracadeborah that "obscurity" is for the scammers and copytakers. Your fans sees right through that. They know its first your self protection. They know your stuff is good for real. Its not that your pictures are ugly by the watermark logo and mention your company name. Your pics are clean. Its more so for the presentation of your products on the social media. By adding the watermark and so on hinders the scammers and the copytakers from taking your art into speed making products. They can produce faster than you by putting it out, while you struggle daily with the homemade versions. By the way l do not think the man is poor and hence he thought the bright idea of copying your products. See he had a complete stand in several Comicons. So no his reasons was not being poor. He got caught by you and your two sincere friends reminding you of this scamming operation. He retracted early, but he is still sitting on a buttload mountains of products no where to go. I think he will go off grid by hiding (no more Comicons for some time) and selling in neighbourhood fairs.
