Someone tried scamming me on Nookazon.

Beware of princess Laila folks she’s a scammer 🙄
My nookazon post clearly said materials needed.
I knew she was scamming from her high number bid and reviews but wanted to have some fun so I went along with it 😂

Here are some tips if you got scammed. If your items like bells, nmts etc. were stolen, close the game without saving or if it says seems like it’s time to go home, immediately turn on sleep mode or airplane mode. This should work and give your items back.

Sleep mode is better then airplane mode. If you always play in handheld mode, Meaning the joycons are attached. Use airplane mode. If not just go in sleep mode.

I went into a scam trade with 100 NMT for 3 villager photos (obviously sketchy) but I was prepared and I recorded them lol. They were all “Just come and drop your tickets so I can see if you have 100 and not 10”. Powered off as soon as they tried kicking me off their island. Wrote them a pleasant review and thanked them for the footage :)

Same thing almost happened to me, if you want to read my experience, proceed: When i was playing New Leaf, there was a girl in the island who was asking for items... No one answered... Afterwards she offered a 1,200,000 crown. (Which was odd) I let her add me to see what happens. In her town she told me to If I could give her a balloon item for it and I said "ok". (which was still odd 🤔) then she told me to come to her house so she can "prove" me she had the crown displayed in her room, while we were there I saw she had a Froggy chair 🤤. I offered her a furniture for her chair and she said "sure". So then it was time for trading, she said "drop your furniture first for the Froggy chair", so I dropped a gold stereo and she dropped a watermelon chair ... which wasn't what I asked for... Then she told me to drop the balloon for her to give the crown, I did and she gave nothing, lying saying she wanted another one. That moment I cutted connection, at the end she got nothing. 😏

Awesome story, I was almost scammed out of a lolly poster (they’re easy to come by idk why they tried scamming) they had their friend talking to the airport bird so I couldn’t leave, then they tried cutting connections with me, which obviously caused it not to save and I ended up getting my poster back 😎

Islands only having one color variant of each item in the shop really sucks. For completing the catalog, that means either getting every color variant through rng methods (like trees and balloons) or trading most furniture items from the shop with other players multiple times. Having all color variants buyable in the shop would also help add a bit more variety to shop. It just feels like they want us to rely on trading with others too much.

I had this one person who wanted to buy my Mystery Grab Bag for 2 nmts. I patiently waited for them for about 30 minutes or so, and I was trading with other people while I waited, not bothering them at all. They finally come to my island and say that they only brought 1 nmt and I said it was okay. They took one bag and also one of my free DIYs. Guess what they left as a review! 3 STARS! Saying "she was nice but eh" ???? WHAT???? I waited on YOU for HALF AN HOUR and let you pay FOR LESS THAN YOU ORIGINALLY OFFERED and gave you a FREE DIY. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankfully that's the only person I had to deal with like that, and I never got completely scammed.

on the other hand, I had someone very kind when i just started playing ACNH, offering free bells and nmts just for the sake of it. I wrote her and asked if there's a catch, that I'm new to the game and acnh and she said I should come to her island and she has a surprise for me ready. I reported the scam to Nookazon staffs. They asked me to show screenshots as evidences. And I must provide them within 3 days. Then they investigated him and blocked his account on Nookazon. But you know, he could just make another account and do that again. It's not helping much I guess. There is no way you could avoid all scammers.

I've never officially gotten scammed. I've ALMOST gotten scammed. This one person offered A TON of items from my wishlist for an item. I thought it was sketchy at first. But there weren't any reviews. So I decided to give them a chance bcuz I'm really nice and I figured that they're new. Someone has to start somewhere, right? Well they were in a trade with someone else at the moment. Then I saw a 1 star review. I looked at it and they said they were scammed. So I quickly cancelled the trade just in case it was true. Thankfully they didn't notice that I even accepted them. So luckily I think I dodged a bullet. 😅

I also gave them a warning that I had a line of people, but they proceeded to give me a bad review. They wrote on their review that materials were required and it took long, but if you look at the listening is literally said materials required 😂

I had a guy some time ago, he was taking items for other people, running loose on my island, ignored and didn’t respond to me and I had to kick everyone out. I only do 1 sale at a time and always check reviews first and go by how new or old their account is.

Do not 100% trust bad reviews if you see a theme of somebody that seems okay having a few salty people being weird and trying to make good people seem less worth trusting. Found a guy that has very mixed ratings where a few people said good things but others said they are rude and not to friendly or willing to wait for a moment while you get items. Now the thing is without knowing what was said is he really rude and somebody trying to rush you or are the other people at fault and being salty they got called out in a PM or something? As good as the rating can be as a guide just crossing one wrong person might get them to say something bad when it was them and not you. I often had items in storage and told people I could trade but you need to wait a bit as I dig out the item. I have taken 3 to 5 minutes or more getting setup and in the wrong framing I could be called really slow and made to look bad.

This is how I approach all reviews online. You have to take into account the reviews as a whole, because there will always be the bitter people who are never happy with anything and think the world revolves around them. These people are usually easy to spot though, because the review will sound petty, especially in context with any positive reviews from other users. But I do scare easily on the internet because of how many scammers exist online. Too many people are just sad and gross.

I was scammed. I went to their island to trade 2 royal crowns for 3 million bells and they were dropping bells but as soon as I dropped they booted me and must have blocked me. Then I was scammed at a yard sale my daughter and I were hosting. It was a team working together and they just kept picking up item after item which they were supposed to pay per item as we had big ticket items and they took around 60 items before we could boot them. It is a mix of greed and good people. Made a few good trades with people that made good offers on what I put up. I do agree with you but to be fair I had more than a few trades go off well. A few item for item trades went fine as a lot of times people are cool with items they do not have being your offer. So like any site you do get lovely people but overall it was a bit to much of a money hungry nightmare.

I have a notice on my nookazon that says I record all trades. I've only ever had one person try me. They tried to short me 10k and say that I wasnt counting right. I had completely empty pockets ( 0 bells) so I could see the exact amount gained. Told them that, and then gave a simple reminder "i record trades". Boom, bells on the floor. I just count to 5 after every important move. When you pick up or drop and item, even the wrong one, record it. They send a message? Record it. You can fake screenshots fairly easy. Video is much harder to fake, in terms of time and software. The in-game recording tops at 30 seconds, to make sure you don't wait too long after something happens.

Here's a story, i got accused of scamming, ok so i put up a pitfall seed recipe, but i don't have a recipe card, theres a trick if where you pick up a pitfall,seed and burry it then dig it up again you get the diy, this girl offered 50 nmts for it, and i was like: "wAOw thats a steal" so in chat i tell her to dig a hole and before i come over and tell her how to get the recipe, i come over to her island and she doesn't have a hole ready in the ground or anything so i drop a pitfall seed up and hrab my payment (which was only 15 nmts but ok hun) i leave and she messages me "SCAMMER!" i reply with "what do you mean? If your not satisfied with just the one pitfall seed and recipe i can come over and bring you 2 stacks of pitfalls." I was tryna be professional even tho i legit have the manners of a pig She's a late typer and said "i told you how to get the recipe, you have to dig a hole and burry the seed, then dig it back up, and you learn the recipe" and then she messages me with "ok nvm i got thx" I didn't reply and i just completed the trade, and guess what, SHE DIDN'T EVEN FUGGIN REVIEW ME! After i lied and reviewed her saying "she was nice and quick thx for the nmts once again!" I have another story but this comment is already really long 👁👄👁

if anyone tries to scam you make sure to press the off button so the screen goes black, it will give them an error and you'll get it back

i was on a livestream and tried to do a trade so the person got gayle but someone came in with A WETSUIT then they jumped into the water and ran straight for the house. i had to close the game so they left because it wouldnt be fair for the person (they didnt drop anything luckily)

Some people don’t scam you, I used to use nookazoon and how to tell if someone is going to scam you go on their reviews and if they all say 1 star stole my stuff don’t trade with them. There are scammers that make you review them 5 stars before the trade but you can edit your reviews so it’s 1 star

if you ever did decide to use it anytime someones tries to scam you, you can press the power button to make your screen black and it should kick them out (idk about going to other peoples island it might be the same)

Luckily I haven't met any scammers yet. I'm mostly a seller because I like having bank 😏 I mostly let people offer unless it's items you find for free. I remember someone gave me about a million bells for 20-40 pumpkins I was giving away for about a 1,000 bells it was really nice :3 I ended up giving them the rest of my pumpkins which in total was about 80? I ran out of space :p I also was selling nmts and someone offered 8 mil. I gave them more than I was selling because holy Jesus that's allot of bells. All my reviews are positive so I'm happy about that :)
