Nicole, You do well at picking the right songs which show your depth into self. I would say it's much harder to sing someone else's song, stepping into a place where the songwriter was when word was written. That has the potential to bring an artist to a place where they get stuck wearing the persona of a writer and what depths they went when writing song. To visit that place and not carry it back with you can be tricky. Anyone who sings knows this. If they dont, eventually the lack of passion in the breath is felt and the songs life has been removed.
