Suddenly, I got insecure about keyboard cleaning. Back home, we just flip the keyboard upside down, smack it a few times, vacuum it up and repeat that every Saturday. Does that sound right? Cuz none of us are particularly sure about removing keys in order to clean.

I think removable keycaps are only for mechanical keyboard? If that's what you have, I really hope you don't go smack your mecha keyboard bc that stuff is expensive lmao

Personally I take off all keycaps and remove all the stuff collected between the switches and on the sides with a wet towel. There are mainly dust and dead skin cells, sometimes small crumbs. A q-tip can also be useful. Then I wipe over everything for getting rid of the dust, wash the keycaps in a bowl of tap water, dry them and reassemble the board. I recommend making a photo of your keyboard before taking off all keycaps. But wether you want to put the work into it or not is of course your own decision. However keyboards can also be cleaned in the dishwasher, so if you got one you can do that (of course without soap). But make sure that the board is completely dry before you plug it in again.

I only make sure top is cleanish. I don’t want to feel any dirt or grime. But if it is hidden deep down where i can’t see it or feel it when typing, them I let it be. You can buy compresses air cans to remove that dust deep below keys. You can also put something over keyboard when not in use to keep dust away. In my room, my laptop gets dusty over a day if not in use since there is no airflow.

​@@farahmau Rubberdome keyboards have often keycaps which are not really designed for removal, but if you disassemble the keyboard you can also take the keycaps out and clean them. Then clean the rubber mat, if it got dirty. But just like mechanical keyboards you can also put rubberdome keyboards into the dishwasher, something which I definitely recommend for offices. Rubberdome keyboards can become kinda nasty if not cleaned. The worst offenders I met had "sticky" keys.

You can use like hard brush... And brush it everyday before you work on something with your computer. In that way, you won't have to worry about any build ups on your keyboard. That's what I do everyday. Tiring? Not exactly... It just cause you like a minute or so while the computer loads up. Haha

My concern for how dirty Mysta seems is at the highest. I bring my dirty dishes and clothes down immediately when I’m done eating or when I have dirty clothes, or the next morning at the latest. Just now I actually cleaned my room, had two trash bags full of stuff I don’t need. I’m also the type of person who cleans my phone screen everyday when I wake up as a daily routine. I’m also the type to need to vacuum my room every week. Most importantly, I have insane OCD, diagnosed when I was 5 among other mental disorders lmao but point is, I’m VERY specific about things. Like I need to wipe every seat before I sit on it, I can’t ever sit on the ground, so I always kneel or stand instead if I’m told I need to sit. I check every dish to see if there’s a spot on it, and if there is, I can’t use it. So, again, my concern for Mysta was quite high, I could never lol
