Glad you're back! Looking forward to watching your progress this season. And those onion seedlings look great!

Thanks, Jenna! Next year I’ll start those around New Year’s Day and see how that works.

Welcome back! I'm so pleased to hear you've got a bit more time for filming and gardening around your work commitments, it's a juggling act but your plans for the coming year sound really exciting. I'm also looking at how to harvest more rainwater, as if this year is anything like last we'll be needing it. I hope your peaches and blueberries give you your first crops this year after all your patience and hard work getting them established.

Thank you! I have plenty of video ideas for the year and I hope I can get them all out.

Hey, hey! Found your channel looking for hugelkulture info. You're like me, learning as I go with gardening and it does take...WORK! I've gardened off and on over the years but this year I have been bitten by the "bug" and created a ton of seedlings only to realize they needed to be planted!☹️ I worked so hard but the reward is that I'm already harvesting kale, swiss chard and spinach and it's still April here in zone 7 central Virginia! 90% of the battle is just picking up that shovel or rake. Once in the hand it just seems to happen! Hope all goes well this year for you and yours, best of luck and know you're not alone!

Thanks for the support! Like any gardener, I’ll spend my whole life learning how to do it 😆 But at least I’ll never get bored! That’s great that you’re already harvesting this year, we’re just starting to here in 5b. Happy gardening and have a great growing season!

Welcome back! Could you empty those raised beds and spread the compost all over that space as a mulch? It would dilute the high nutrient levels over a bigger area. Then maybe grow some heavy feeders like vining squash in the space around the beds?

Thanks! I will definitely be using that soil somehow, and that’s a good idea.

I have just recently found your channel , one i watched you had hooped covers over some of your veggies, and were saying you needed a better way to hold the cover down , i use alot of yard staples ,and have found a free way to make them , go to any company or shop that provides uniform shirts and pants to their employees. Most of them throw away their wire hangers with a few minutes of time and good wire cutters you can make them as long or short as you need them

Potatoes -- try growing red (skin and flesh), or blue (skin and flesh) varieties -- not gigantic yields, but more disease resistant.

Thanks for the tip! We did try Purple Viking this year (purple skin, white flesh) and they did really well. Not a huge harvest (10 lbs.), but still the best we've had so far.

@@SomeRoomtoGrow don't give them too much light inside or they will form bulbs early and won't get big. I start mine outside in a cold frame to avoid giving them too much.

Welcome back!! You might want to find some IBC tanks. They are even stackable. So in just a bit bigger footprint of your existing barrel you could store 2m³ of water instead of 200l 😊

Thanks, that’s a great idea! I’ll look around for those.
