Unfortunately I am not a gardener. I have some hosta and other perennials I put in around a horribly done diy mini pond (70g maybe). All my water goes into the sump and is pumped out to the backyard. I doubt that little watering can would be of much use to me in my fish room but I might be able to use it upstairs on my 14g betta cube tank. I'm definitely going to give it a try. Even if it's a complete fail, the wifey can use it for her indoor plants.

Nice video. With 7 tanks, I’ve been doing the watering can method for a while. Another tip with the watering can with a big spout is to use something to deflect the flow. I use plastic paint scrapers for algae and they’re great for deflecting water flow. Saves time not having to screw on the tip. Also, using 2 different sized watering cans helps with watering, especially small pots. Keep it up!

A watering can would work with my Spec V tank. I use two 15L buckets for my water changes currently . I will look for a large colander at the dollar store next month. During the summer months, we pour the old tank water in our rain barrel and use that to water our plants outside.

I use a watering can outside for my patio ponds - great minds think alike! Inside I use 2.5 gallon Sterilite buckets with easy pour spouts. They are small and extremely sturdy, also very easy to pour out waste water into sink, the handles are very easy to securely grip. To refill tanks I use a water pitcher, though (better for arthritic hands), and pour clean water through collapsible colanders - the collapsible colanders span the width of tank with their handles securely resting on the edge of either side, so hands free operation. I also have collapsible buckets and wash tubs I use for other aquarium tasks, these are great because when flat they take up very little storage space... :)

@@thesmallscape 😂 yeah I stole it out the shed from my mrs a good while ago. She is fine with it because I spill less water now. I used to use a 10 litre bucket and a cup 😔

2 + Both = 4, That was funny LOLOLOL. You know Joanna, I think the watering can is a GREAT idea!!! I always "mean" to water my plants with fish tank water, but I always end up just dumping the 5 gallon bucket down the drain. You should demonstrate how you do your water change with a water can? Do you just fill the watering can from the dirty water in the bucket?
