Before I overhauled my crawlspace, I was under there, laying on my back, wedged between some pipes so I could reach what I was re-plumbing. I had a small light illuminating the immediate area i was in. My dog snuck down there when I wasn't looking and stepped out of the shadows right near my head. I about lost it! I had weaved myself between water, gas, and waste pipes so I couldn't easily move, and all the sudden this monster animal was coming at me from the dark! That was the only time I was really startled under there. Luckily nothing more than spiders and alien crickets before.
