That's what I kept thinking throughout the video. Maybe the game author should have removed the whole door. Fun facts about the Appalachian region: 1. The Appalachian Mountains are home to numerous caves, including Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. It holds the title of the longest cave system in the world, with over 426 miles (685 kilometers) of surveyed passages and more being discovered regularly. 2. Tennessee alone is home to nearly 10,000 documented caves, making it one of the states with the highest cave density in the United States. 3. The Appalachian Mountains are ancient, estimated to be nearly 480 million years old, forming during the Ordovician period.

I live in South Africa and we have Lions on our property. We had two incidents where they poached two groups of lions on our property back in 2016 and 2023 . They are indeed motion detection good sir. We have 5500 hectares and we use 352 motion detection trail cams randomly in the field/bush to detect any strange behavior of the animals and/or poachers that want to come and cause kak. But mainly you can't only rely on trail cams. We have anti poaching units patrolling the property as well. Keep it real, keep it simple. Enjoying your content♡

I live and have lived in the Appalachian Mountains my whole life, and it can sometimes be a little spooky way out in the empty places here. I read somewhere that, while big cities have higher m*rder rates, places like Appalachia have much higher rates of disappearances. All that tells me is that if that if something happens to you, you’re not likely to ever be found. I’d tend to agree with that sentiment. I love living here and wouldn’t live anywhere else, but even I can agree that it’s not a place you want to just be messing around in if you don’t know where you are or what you’re doing. Besides the meth labs and moonshine stills, you’ve also got some semi-aggressive wildlife who aren’t keen on you being there. If you do come to the Appalachian Mountains to visit, be armed. Always.

I use trail cams weekly. I've used them for about 25 years since back when they use to be equipped with actual film instead of SD cards. Most of them are IR and have an IR laser beam that shines from the front of the camera outward. The farther the bream reaches, the wider the beam gets and the less sensitive it is towards movement. Some even use heat detection. Most have a cluster of LED lights or blacked out LEDs on the front.

Hi, Fooster. I have a trail cam on my land AND I've worked with them as a bio science tech. One of the most annoying things about them is that if they have vegetation in front of them and the wind blows, it sets the camera off. Repeatedly. At least one of the ones you look at frequently has a lot of small shrubs in the foreground. I'm going to bet that's why it goes off so much. :D

I was born & grew up in central West Virginia, only state 100% within Appalachia -- 1) Moose are rare except extreme northern Appalachia 2) Wolves are very rare - endangered & near extinction 3) Our bears are black & brown -- they can be harmful but nothing compared to Grizzly (I've lived in Montana so I know!) -- The West Va. cryptids I grew up hearing about are Mothman & the Flatwoods Monster. But with a good 30.06 I've never been afraid to camp or hike in my Appalachian wilderness.

So it depends on what kinda trail cam you get. Some are motion activated some are constantly recording. Some just take a pic at a set interval others take video when activated. It depends a lot on what your budget is. Picture ones are less expensive then video ones. As of right now to my knowledge there arent many that will give you live video fed 24/7. The ones that do have limited battery life and are REALLY expensive!!!!!

Watching this gave me an idea: You're the new night watch for a private island resort that has an ultra-exclusive dinosaurs zoo owned by a family that's too wealthy for their own good. Over the past several weeks there's been a number of enclosure escapes with more than a few close calls on island guests, and the head of the family suspects somebody is responsible for this. Your job is simple: monitor and report on any suspicious activities caught on security cameras, inform the dinosaur wranglers of any escapes, and protect the guests by contacting them ONLY when necessary. But most especially, keep yourself safe as well.

Tactacam, moultrie , stealth cam, etc are all motion activated and are cell cameras that send the videos or pictures to an account that you can check with your phone. Moultie apparently now has an AI feature that should only take pictures of large game like deer etc to help eliminate any unwanted photos.

I live in West Virginia, completely covered with the Appalachians. We hear a LOT of terrifying things in the woods/mountains. In regards to the trail cams: There's both, some are motion detected picture cams, they take pics of whatever passes in front of them; more higher end ones are motion detected and can show you what's in front of them in real time if you have the apps to watch it. Also, people use them as security cams to keep an eye on their properties, tree stands, garages, etc. We use them at my feed store to make sure no one is lurking around at night when we aren't there.

Fooster - you're correct. Appalachia covers a huge swath of land across multiple states. My family is from very deep in the hills in Kentucky, where there are hundreds of miles of completely unexplored, uninhabited land. Its easy for people to go missing up there. The terrain can be rough and its easy for people to misjudge their own ability to hike certain trails, not to mention people going spelunking, or just trying to explore more wild parts of the forests. Then there's flood risks, mountain lions, snakes, moonshiners, drug plantations, all manner of bad things up there. Still, Appalachia is also very beautiful, be it Kentucky, West Virginia, west Pennsylvania, etc.

Hey Fooster, I live in Appalachia. In the southern Appalachian mountains we have an entity called Not Deers. From afar they look like normal deer but they are not. These creatures has sharp teeth and acts like predators and eat meat. They are not afraid of people and will follow groups of people but when your alone then they can attack. My freind sent me. A trail cam to make sure nothing would get after his dog after he buried him when he passed away. Three days later the cam got triggered and showed pics of a deer digging up the dog's corpse and eating it. He showed local wildlife rangers and they blew him off saying he had to photo shop them. We also have stories of big foot, windigo, and skin walkers. Then there are alot of local folklore, like where I grew up we had two folklores. The first one is about the haunted mine owners mansion. Supposedly, back in the early 1900s the marble mine owner and his family was killed in their mansion after the owner just left workers down in the mine after it caved in. No one knows who killed them, but the rumors was one of the maids that had a son that was left down there. The mansion was claimed to be haunted by the family and miners. There is also a graveyard built on the property as well. Been there a couple of times but never experienced anything. The next place is the witches house. The witches house is deep within the woods. There are no roads to the cabin and only rough walking trails. The cabin lays in the middle of two moutain ranges and the woods are undeveloped and protected by wildlife services. Ive only been there once and have no plans to go back. When I went there everything was OK at first. Took me all day to get to the location. I set up camp not to far from where the cabin is. I awoke the next morning and had coffee and some breakfast. Then I started to the cabin. When you get to the area where the cabin is you will find handmade crosses all around the property. Some looked new while most seemed like there were there for awhile. As soon as I crossed into the property the woods went silent, not even wind was blowing. The became thick and a smell of mildew and rot filled the air. I walked towards the cabin whats long sents been abandoned. Peered into the window to see nothing but black. This was a sunny day. As I walk around the building's perimeter I hear nothing and the air felt even more stagnant. A shiver stayed running down my back, like I was being watched. I decided to leave seeing nothing. As soon as I left the property the sounds of nature came back with a woosh of a breeze. I went back to my camp and packed up. It was just after night fall I made it back to my truck. Nothing out of the ordinary the whole way back. Right when I got to my truck I smelt the mildew and rotting smell again. Then I heard a loud screem with a lower gargle sound accompanying it off from the distance I then left. Ive never went back to the witches house and don't plan on any trips either.
