Dr. Jordan Peterson: "We solve the power of perception with divine word. That's how it is. And what does that mean? Well, it means truth. Every word, a prayer."
IMPORTANT:
If you feel like thanking Dr. Peterson for the impact he had on you, READ THIS:
We're creating a compilation video with people across the globe saying, “Thank you, Dr. Peterson”.
If you want IN on this project, you can submit a thank you video, by following these 4 simple steps
1. Film yourself in front of a source of light in landscape mode/horizontal
2. Thank Dr. Peterson shortly for one thing (we’re trying to be concise).
3. Upload the video wherever you want to get a link (YT, Gdrive, etc).
4. Share the link with us by replying here or by e-mail at hello @ succesonline . ro, along with your first name, city & country.
Let’s do this!
Ps. The main point of this is to create this one-of-a-kind video, in which we get to thank Dr. Peterson "personally".
#JordanPeterson
#PursuitofMeaning
This is his best book, in my opinion: geni.us/DrJP
HINT: You can get for FREE the audio version narrated by Dr. Peterson himself if you sign up for an Audible Trial.
We create to inspire, hopefully, worldwide.
If you're into a motivational speech or a motivational video from Dr. Jordan Peterson, you can stop here.
Here, at the "Pursuit of Meaning" channel, we transform the original content from shows, podcasts, and key-notes with Dr. Jordan Peterson, to provide the viewers with a more immersive experience.
We amplify the content's original message by making it more cinematic and easier to understand by the end consumer.
If you are the legal content owner of any videos we posted on the channel and would like to remove them, please e-mail us at hello@succesonline.ro.
✅ Fair Use Disclaimer
1. The videos have no negative impact on the original works.
2. The videos we make are used for teaching purposes.
3. The videos are transformative in nature.
4. We use only the audio component and tiny pieces of video footage, only if it's necessary.

Seeing a man who is an intellectual on a level not seen very often today, who has not believed in Christianity, come to the Lord is probably one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. His emotions every time he speaks on his new found faith get my emotions going. I think that those of us who are lifelong Christians and who were raised in the church often forget what people are feeling and how intense that emotion is in the beginning of their walk. I’m very happy for Dr. Peterson.

this was taken from one of his latest lectures at Cambridge University. and, as it happens, one of his best. to be so articulate speaking straight from the head and the heart, no reference to notes, no indecision.. and to speak with all humility, almost apologetically.. and, for someone who has supposedly not formally 'entered' the Church, his pure, heartfelt emotion whenever he discusses or describes a cathedral, is truly touching. he is a Simone Weil of out times.. God bless you Jordan.

“A sense of awe that leads to imitation.” I would say this man’s words are as biblical as it can get. When you look at Jesus as a Christian, (especially His love) you feel this sense of awe and it makes you praise Him and makes you want to be like Him. The Bible actually teaches that we should imitate Christ. Jesus Christ said it Himself, “Love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12

Watched this chap for quite a while and he has such a way with words. He demands your focus and your attention. He has a way of making a story of a subject - I could (and do) listen to him for hours. He's more recently gone further into talking about faith and God. You can see the intense emotion he feels like he has discovered something that he is finding difficulty in coming to terms with - like it can't be explained with science or reason. It could drive a simpleton to distraction. I hope he doesn't become too embroiled in this wormhole of thought that he ends up being destracted - that would be a real shame, as his lectures and writings are a joy. Long may he continue.
@PursuitofMeaning
@PursuitofMeaning 2 жыл бұрын
My honest take on his faith is that he doesn't know if he believes or not. His background doesn't let him to do this, but there's that call inside of him for which even he finds it difficult to articulate. If he'll let go of everything, he might get there :)
@fredgarv79

@@PursuitofMeaning I totally agree with this, because I can relate to it so much. I went looking for some proof, some evidence, reading books like "mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis but I have come to feel that this is not necessary, I seem to have that call inside but I don't know if I believe or not. But the feeling grows stronger and when he talks about music, classical music has brought me to this point.

I'm watching someone's who's heart is literally being touched from the inside by God. It's like He's answered your prayers Jordan Peterson's pursuit all his life for absolute truth, morality, reason but for all his searching there was something missing a place he could not reach as desperately and meticulously as he tried and one day...in the midst of suffering as he points out. ..God answered his prayer in a place beyond words but we see it in his eyes they speak all we need to know to believe. I feel like I'm watching a biblical scene of a disciple or Simon St Paul being struck by God's awe and love so powerfully. Not only has he found God but anyone looking at him feels God speaking through him to them.

Jesus Christ is all we need for salvation. The Holy Spirit provides the only lens we need while searching for Truth. “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” 1 John 1-v.5-7 “Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.” 1 John 2-v.18-19 “Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist - he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” 1 John 2-v.22-23 Peterson does not believe Jesus is the Christ.

I was pre-med and often get asked “why did you also study abroad to study *world religions*…and I’ve always been adamant that both science and religion search for truth…there’s just something about the articulate, intelligent, rapid-fire competent thoughts/words that JP brings to his lectures that make me think. This guy is an enlightened being…his path to get there, is not like the other saints, but he should be canonized or recognized for his EPIC impact on mental health now on a platform with rarefied impact. 04:20-06:24 SHOOK me. I have been raised in a staunch conservative baptist home…gave up on religion when those same people preaching love/forgiveness got divorced…became an atheist that LOVES all forms of music…staring into my mind in Buddhist temples, performing pooja with Hindu priest, listening to Gregorian chants, and respectfully praying/mimicking the call to prayer while I was in the Middle East. Shamans I’ve met have said they normally don’t do interviews (and I genuinely believed them…hair stands on your neck…”how do you, as a stranger without any tech know my grandpa died today?!?). I have taught meditation as a invited guest / “friend and healer” at Lakota tribal events…followed Obama’s proclamation stunned thinking “uh oh, I’m not sure I’m important or ‘good enough’ to be the keynote introduction after Barack…” I think on those last two lines of John Keats's "Ode on a Grecian Urn" often as I travel the USA in my traveling gig with UPS (I get to see the dirtiest/poorest, conversed that same day with the gated/richest neighborhoods…recently blessed with my last year at a center that is “super rural” in the Badlands of SD…I have a rare opportunity to see and serve the community in a role that shows the reality *as, it is* and a lot of “windshield time” between each stop…a desolate rugged prairie, breathtakingly ruthless…often listening to him and taking in that same beautiful nature scenery:..I’ve pulled over to cry and embrace some of the hard things I know I’ve been wrestling with for my entire life) Those lines by Keats: Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. My aha moment from my atheist background where I was in the midst of alll those places/traditions…was better summarized by Rumi: I searched for god in the temple, mosque, church, etc…yet couldn’t find him. But in silence, alone, I looked deep into my heart and God was there all along. I like the Buddhist belief of honoring and thanking a teacher…as a means to keep progressing. Thank you, JP, and anyone else who presents universal methods that can be practiced by all…leading to truth. May that truth, ripple out in our actions as we embrace it, and practice it’s perfection, to save all our relations [the world] and liberate allll beings. Past present future. I hope to meet this man someday…and I think I will break down into tears. Hugging him, not saying anything…for “heavy is the crown” that he bears to share with us so much truth. May alllll beings be happy 🙏😇🧘🏼‍♂️

So my parish church is *124 years old!* You can check out the video of my parish's history right here on KZbin on the StoryTel KZbin channel: "Saint John Cantius: Restoring The Sacred." @@alexandermichael117 the Bible explains this so beautifully. We deserve his wrath but out of his love he sent Jesus, who lived perfectly and fulfilled the moral law that we fail. Jesus then died to his own creation, taking our sin upon himself, though he was innocent. Through that, if we call on Jesus, and put our faith in him, we become free from God's wrath and will be presented white as snow. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

@@alexandermichael117 Yeah God is angry but he still loves you more than anybody can even think of, you are His child and he wants to guide you to the light! All the suffering in the world is a result of the consequences of sin, God gave you a free will so you can earn your place beside Him. The Bible teaches us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose! The Bible also warns us about the consequences of sin! People suffer not because God punishes them but because they sin and bring it on themselves, then lose their faith because they can't deal with the consequences of their OWN actions! Every single thing God asked of us in the Bible helps us it doesn't do anything for Him he gave us the Word to HELP US! I was clinically depressed dropped out of college and fell into poverty, I blamed God for everything but as I grew wiser I realized that every thing was my own fault! When I gave my heart to God and fully embraced the Christian lifestyle Joy filled my heart and I am working my way out of my situation, I'm back in university and passing the subjects I failed God blessed me out of poverty, and I live with purpose! God wants to save you not punish you!

Matthew 16: 17-20 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

You cannot disagree with many of his arguments. He does a great job in explaining his journey emotionally for his beliefs and thoughts. Truth starts with us understanding perception on an individual level. Looking in the mirror and questioning is there is a Creator is such an important subject to meditate on as much as possible during our lifetime. For those atheists out there, it is worth sacrificing study and time for this amzing knowledge he briefly speks about in this video! Much love guys🤍

Very profound and deep observation has been done by him to find his truth. It’s really a sense of wonder that keeps us focusing on the beyond and what it means to us and how we can benefit from it. That is the overall pursuit of the human soul. To seek and find the beyond that in return grants us our sense of purpose

He speaks like a true master of emotions. Like his journey, went deep into that which is, mental health... unconditional love is the answer, goal, rumor, homeostasis, energy, that we need to harness. For in unity, we shall all fly. Like peterpan and fairy dust. Love, sprinkle love, watch what happens.

The Crown of Twelve Stars on Mary is very symbolic. The crown she was given as Queen of Heaven is sometimes depicted with twelve stars because the book of Revelation speaks of how “a great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (Revelation 12:1). Since the woman is identified as giving birth to “a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron” Scripture interpreters have long taken this as a reference to Mary, because this description of her Son clearly identifies Him as Jesus (Revelation 2:26-27; Psalm 2:8-9). Mary herself can also be seen as a personification of ancient Israel and of the Church. The twelve stars thus symbolize the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve Apostles of the Church.

Good work Jordan. I wish to share briefly, an experience I had in which I was caught up in the Spirit. I was taken up high enough to see what I needed to see. When I looked up, God was at the top and the light of Truth and Power and Love was diverging down from God onto mankind. What I saw/perceived was, - GOD IS TRUTH. Then "it said" God is ALL Truth, Infinite Power, and Infinite Love. Then I looked up again, and I perceived that Christ was at the right side of God. He seemed to be on the left, but of course he was on the right facing towards me. I was used to going through a process of analyze, test and accept, and I didn't accept any thought/concept or perception that didn't stand up to attack. So I thought that I might have thought Christ was there because I've been told he's there, - and my mind might be playing tricks, and consciousness was just a pointless internal madness after all. So I tried to wipe him away, but I couldn't. He was there and that was that. I wanted to be sure and thorough in my testing of what I was perceiving, so I tried to put Him on the other side, (and I had plenty of mental power), - if I could change what I was perceiving then it was all in my mind, - but I couldn't change what I was perceiving. So the penny dropped that, He is who He says He is. Then I resumed my position back down where I was at. My definition of Truth for us as creatures of perception, is - " The highest way of looking at things, that leads to life and liberty for everyone equally.

How about supplementing the video with brief written thank you notes?. Many of us would like to thank him for his excellent work at helping humanity, but not all of us feel comfortable in front of a camera. I don't know how practical this would be though. I imagine millions of notes coming his way. He's certainly an example of what each of us should be.

I believe that many of us express our gratitude through written words, all over KZbin. I'm sure that Dr. Peterson knows this and read them for years, but a well-put video is "nicer" to deliver, and... it's something else. I know that many can feel uncomfortable, but trust me, these are just a few, repeated words you must say - no more. For eg. We received videos like "Thank you Dr. Peterson for making me a better person" / "Thank you Dr. Peterson on my way to self-development", etc. It's easy, and it's nice to be part of a project like this :)
