Honestly, I’d love if a neighbor asked me for parchment in exchange for their homemade cookies 😂

that’s how i feel too, would I approach a neighbour and ask?? no, i’m a coward. But if one of them approached me to ask, absolutely and also be my friend 😂😂

You can always make the full batch and freeze the dough to make little fresh cookies in the oven nightly as needed ☺️

In case it’s helpful, creaming the butter at 13:02 typically means mixing the butter and sugar with an electric mixer so it gets kind of fluffy and the butter looks a bit less yellow

Love this so much. You totally did that! They look so yummy. If you’re open to and want these tips read on otherwise keep doing you: .5) I measure vanilla with my heart. Straight from the bottle to the bowl. Very few recipes will be impacted by a little more vanilla. 1) softened butter just means it’s been on the counter. If it melts the water and fats separate giving different results. 2) measuring flour. You’ll want it to be fluffy. Try to avoid packing it into the cup as you’ll use too much flour. Some people use a spoon to fluff and scoop into the cup and then scrap off with a knife to level. More flour can make it difficult to fold in chocolate chips and make a dryer cookie but some prefer that. 3) Creaming butter and sugar means to mix it with an electric mixer for a couple minutes until it changes to this amazing fluffy texture (which won’t happen if butter is melted. Too cold and it’s too hard to cream. Butter needs to be Goldilocks softened, which I’ve used the microwave for too but only like 10-15 seconds) 4) beat in - I guess you do kinda beat it to death with an electric mixer. Lol 5) some cookie recipes will call for “chilling” the dough. This ensures the butter is coldest when it goes into the oven and impacts how the cookie spreads. Chilled dough doesn’t spread as much but warm dough can give the thin flat cookies. Finally, Baker Bettie on tiktok is amazing at explaining things.

this may be absolutely absurd of me, but i bake my cookies with margarine so it isn’t impossible and then i don’t have to add salt either 😅 but to solve your hard butter problem, just leave it out for a few hours before mixing (:

Heck yeah I'd give my neighbor parchment paper, even better if there were homemade cookies in exchange. 😋 I'm older generation and it was acceptable to borrow something from the neighbor, well unless you were basically grocery shopping. Nowadays people seem to keep more to themselves and would probably be leary accepting food. Rightfully so. However I think it's okay when it's a friendly neighbor. 🙂
