When Ulta thick came out on the market, it was called Ulra Thick Embossing Enamel because of the enamel surface it gave. Which earned it it’s nickname UTEE (you-tea). It started the craze of Melt Art with the Ranger company designer Suze Weinberg. They came out with the Hot pot/Melting pot and lots of special enamels in colors and special stamps. There’s still videos on KZbin today. You’d make Suze proud with your creation today! Love your videos no matter what length they are. I’m sure you’ll come up with some more awesome idea with embossing powders. I’m really loving these ones with the ultra thick. Brings back fond memories!!

I have done this sort of thing before. I drop in little inclusions like a bit of glitter or tinsel or teeny tiny beads. I have also used a toothpick to swirl the melted colors of EP together, too. And, you can use stamps too, to press into the melted EP. I have used red rubber to do that, but not the photopolymer or the silicone. I can’t imagine it would hurt them as the melted EP isn’t that hot, but maybe coat the clear stamps with a bit of ink first and use one you don’t like the first time! And the crackle technique! I had forgotten that one! I really enjoyed your video today. TFS.

Once you've sealed in the colour with your first layer of embossing powder and its cooled, you can put your heart onto your watermark pad, to add another layer of ink and sprinkle your powder on, just like you normally would on any image and you won't get tweezer marks. And when you use a silicone mat, you can still swirl in your top layer and it won't move because your mat will hold it in place xx

I just got into the using of embossing powders in these ways with dome or glass like effects. My neighbor and I have been sharing the experience. And we made hearts like yours only our very first one we took too far and suddenly it cracked up and actually fell apart. Since then I ordered really heavy weight paper to use which gives it more support and less likely to crack up. We also thought perhaps when we went with the HIGH or ULTRA high with the brand we were using for clear it just was too much. But Yes these techniques are so amazing and FUN too. Loved both your feather and your hearts. And your end photos show a lot of the effect once the cards made. For some reason I have never picked up on that wonderful Altnew die for your heart back ground. Love that and I have quite a few Altnew's including their embossing folders. I just swore off buying any more for like 6 months and cut myself off and unsubscribed to everyone. But rules are for breaking. Then again I am very disciplined when I want to be and I'm pretty sure I can wait out my 6 month break period. Meantime I've got lots of Embossing powders to PLAY WITH. Note sometimes multiple heating can darken your ink or colors laid down by ink pads or copic pens too. And they darken even more with each heat we've discovered. Your idea of adding a bit of coloring as you go along is interesting. I tried a couple of less than drops of acrylic resin translucent coloring and it seemed to work and came out very interesting. But a wee bit goes a long long ways. Thanks for your share today. This was FUN watching and thinking up other amazing ways to use these clear embossing powders both the fine and high styles.

What a fantastic idea thank you for your inspiration. My mind went on a tangent thinking of other things I could use- gold or silver or any metallic embossing powder or even mica powder like perfect pearls. This may be my challenge for the weekend. Never apologise for video length as they are so full of information and inspiration.

Absolutely love these cards! I think I’ve gotta rush out and get some ultra thick embossing powder 😉 It almost makes the hearts and feather look like a porcelain or enamel embellishment rather than paper. Also love that burlap die for texture. You’ve given me lots of food for thought 😊

As always ,, they are stunning. love the idea of no sentiment. Im making a stock of cards for daughter in laws to cut down on their house hold budget. I wondered if i shhould leave off sentiment. Yep i will on some. Think il put in some loose pre stamped ones and a few hearts etc for them to add if wanted. Your feather is beautiful. A suggestion.... If i gave this in person i think i would put sentiment seperatly leaving the feather free. Id give smalll frame ( one of the ones that are bit deaper, so they can put the feather in as a keep sake. All that work needs to be teasured. Hereford England.
