Yesterday I had my riding lesson and my favorite lesson pony spooked at a tarp that flew up because of the wind. I somehow sat it and and was legit in shock that I did it. I was about to cry when my trainer walked over. I remembered when fin took off after Sophie jumped him and how Sophie sat it and instead of crying, she was proud of how she sat it and didn’t cry. I just wanted to say how much Sophie was an inspiration to me yesterday. If that would have happened to me even a few months ago, I probably would have taken a break from riding. But knowing that I can do it makes me stronger than ever with my riding career and I just wanted to say thank you :)

Western tips for catching your horse ;D 1. Shake grain 2. Bend down when they look at you (they get curious and walk over) 3. When you get close, throw the lead rope over their neck so if they walk off when they see the halter you have them. 4. Never chase them 5. If they are still flying around, walk away and do something else. They get jealous because they aren’t getting attention so they’ll usually come to the gate.

Hi there! I'm Kora and I live in Wisconsin. I'm a huge fan of horses and been a rider for 13 years. I want to point out some stuff that I noticed that I have done myself plenty of times. first is the balance on the horse. I am terrible at that, esp with the canter. I don't jump but do both styles of Dressage. Another thing is hanging onto the bridle a bit tight. Horses are unable to go forward if they're being held back too much. I also want to say that when the horses seem too tense, work them from the walk to the trot to the canter from the lunge rope first. A horse is always relaxed when its head is lowered and its gaits are smooth. Keep up the hard work. I completely understand how tough riding is.❤️

"I can put up a fight" Storm running around like a racehorse putting up a fight 😂 "so just say heck no Yeah we'll be going all night" Still Storm racing around his paddock making them almost late to the show. The Chino not wanting to load right away for Kailey. I swear horses know when its show day and try to sabotage it, if its racing around the paddock or rolling the night before. You could try shaking a little bit of grain in his bucket, I have to do that or treats all the time🤣

Some people just don't think, hope you feel better soon. You need to go and see this horse as you so feel she is for you, you will be devastated if she was sold before you got to see her, I know you have said if it was meant to be it would still be available to you, but you would still be devastated as you have spoken so much about her. Sam you looked good with your shorts, all matched with the hat finishing off the look.

Finn reminds me a little of horse I had when I was younger named Little Princess. Palomino, Quarter/Tennessee Walker cross. Rode bareback most times, as saddle was too heavy, and me on shorter side at that age. She didn't like cars or motorcycles, tractors didn't bother her. Before Princess, we had solid black pony named Hercules. First time I rode him after we got him home, I rode bareback down dirt road going to back of farm, about 1/4 mile, maybe a little more, as was starting to get dark out. Turned him around to go back to barn, he took off like a shot. I managed to stay on till corner to get into fenced in area by barn, he went one way, me the other. Beings first time on pony other than pony rides at fair etc., surprised I stayed on that long first time home. Former owners kids barrel raced him till they out grew him.

I work in healthcare. Getting knocked in the back of the head is one of the most dangerous places because your brainstem, which lies at the base at the back of your head, is where your breathing is controlled from. The fact that you have a bad headache is concerning. Please get checked out. There have been many cases where people have bleeds on the brain that don't appear until about 48 hours after. Please see a doctor.

Laura, I understand your hesitation at a new horse. It's a scary thought. I've never had the pleasure of owning my own horse, but I'd probably go nuts trying to find the right one.(Although I have lost 2 heart horses that were school horses that I clicked with like no one else) LOL. Here are a couple of questions, seeing as we all know that you have 2 breeds narrowed down. The first one is, what do you plan on doing with this horse? Are they just going to be a pleasure mount that you have something safe and solid to ride around on and do some trail rides? Were you planning on doing any shows? (if you go with a gaited breed, it would be harder to do local shows, unless the gaited horse can also trot and canter, so 5 gaits). If you were planning on going with the other breed (of the furrier legged type), you'd be able to do flat and hack classes no problem (they can also jump, so a crossrail class would be awesome as your own confidence builds), the horse would just stand out is all, which there is nothing wrong with. Another question: I know you're planning on going to try this horse out. Will you be bringing one of your trainers (like Fiona) with you so that they can also ride the horse and give an opinion? That's really beneficial. I'm assuming the entire family is going to see the horse anyways, so both girls can also try the horse and their difference in skill levels would help gauge how the horse is with different confidence and skill levels. Anyways, it's now 6:23am and I haven't been to bed yet. I was always a good stable hand because I'd be up all night anyways and then feed and much and crash in my bed for a few hours. Haha. Please don't drive yourself mad with the overthinking (I know, easier said than done). LOL. You will know when try the horse if it is right for you. Hopefully you didn't get too concussed by the runaway tent ;) Take it easy today (Yes, I know, easier said than done. LOL). Take care, Sam

To get storm to come to you is when you go to catch him have a treat in your hand and once he realizes it’s in there he’ll come and just give him treats for coming to you and eventually he’ll come without anything in your hand

What was Storm's actual showname? I had no idea it wasnt technically Stormy Night haha. When we were camping in Oregon, a dirt devil came across the hay field and hit our tent. Destroyed all three canopies we were using and threw them into one friend. The tent came flying at me and a horse in the washrack. Thankfully he's the 28 yo bombproof horse and didnt budge and kill the girl with the hose. The tent landed about a foot away from us! So Marissa/ I'll Be Bold and I had to sleep in the tack room since our tent was trashed. As for I'll Be Bold himself? Yeah Talac was totally unfazed but it didnt really hit near him.

@@DayByDayVlogs We had the tent tied to the gooseneck of the trailer, a giant trailer tire, 5lbs buckets full of water, ect. It snapped the line going to the gooseneck and dragged everything else with it. It was crazy.

Be careful using those lycra hoods, I've heard of several incident where they've twisted round over the horses eyes and they've panicked and run through fencing etc.

I know I’m reallyyyyy late but will you still notice your late squad?🤟🏻😁😂 I love you guys so much and I look up to Sophia and Gabby, I’m 12 and I started riding at 10 so I’m not very experienced yet, but I adore how well the two of them ride, my favorite horse at the place I take lessons his name is Mac, he’s very twitchy with his girth, and throws his head at the bit, but we have made so much progress with his diagonals and his strong trot. I fell off him only once, cause he spooked, but enough about me, Gabby and Sophia are doing so well and I loved the show where Gabby was grand champion, and if you see this can you tell them that I said that they are doing SOOO well, and that it does get hard sometimes, but you have to power through it and look at your dream and gallop for it❤️ love you guys!

could I just ask why the ponies are in a paddock with no grass because when they are eating their hay and feed and they could inhale the dust or sand it could really easily cause colic from their bellies and stuff being clogged with sand or dirt

@c0nvrse_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@Lifewithhorses628, yeah but you can just monitor the amount of grass they get thats what we do with our 2 ponies, having them in a dirt yard and the sand arena and eating off those surfaces is a high risk to colic. they could inhale the sand or dirt while eating and get their stomachs and other stuff blocked up causing colic

@c0nvrse_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@jumpingjackandapollo4701 I understand that but it is still not healthy for them to be in yards like that, it just causes such a risk for them getting colic, even if horses are prone to foundering they still should be on grass even if it really short and they can't get much from it, 3 of our horses are prone to foundering and we still manage to keep then in grass yards without foundering

Laura,imo if it is supposed to be your horse it will all work out. When I got my boy I had been looking for a while and it was just getting frustrating. One didn't pass a vet check, two of them were bought by other people, etc . Then my boy popped up in my feed , and something made me get him right away. A new horse will take time to adjust to you, then you gradually get more connected to each other and your aids become more subtle. When you have your own horse that you get to ride regularly you will find it will happen Laura, it will be easier, never plain sailing lol but you will learn each other.
