If you want something to warm your heart, and bring tears to your eyes, listen to the emotion in Ted Walsh’s voice as he talks about Ruby winning the National. Ted, you angel. Thank you for really letting us feel how much it meant to you. What a wonderful story it is, and what a timely reminder that the National really is the greatest race. Racing is stories. The three-time winner trained behind a car showroom. The jockey who beat cancer. A horse bought cheaply still unbroken by a trainer stays in his yard through the generosity of a kind owner who had a soft spot for the trainer’s talented young son, and fate intervenes to give him the ride in the National. Led up by his sister, he is led in by his sister half-an-hour later in triumph. It’s a real family effort. It truly is a dream come true. Thanks for the reminder.

I have been following racing for many moons, I have seen amazing jockeys win races world wide , but the one jockey that heads above the lot is Ruby Walsh , the huge smile always, doesn't matter how big an event, or small ,he appreciated every ride , a joy to watch , I watch some jockeys win now a days and they can't even smile or acknowledge the crowd, they should all take a lesson from Ruby, Thanks to the Walsh family, Irelands treasure, God Bless ye❤❤

I was there, travelled up from London that day, backed it the week before at 40/1, massive win for Ireland and for the Walsh family. Life is made up of great memories like this.

I recall Ted Walsh being pretty mean when the groom of Inlis Drever (?) was given airtime.
