My grandfather came to western Canada ( from Ontario)in the late 1800 hundreds. My mom and my aunts and uncles grew up on the land he homesteaded No electricity, no running water no heating My mom grew up in the dirty thirties. My aunts used to tell me what it was like. Men riding freight trains looking for work, or just a meal, droughts too causing a shortage of food. Our Prime Minister Justin likes to tell us we are all immigrants. Comparing the hardships of the old days with people arriving via air… with all sorts of government agencies falling over each other to hand out everything a person would need to live. Canada is a cold cold country, and the settlers faced all sorts of hardships and still they created a nice and peaceable country . Not so peaceful now and I would say the social cohesion has disappeared…I guess we could call it the modern era and we just have to get with the program!

The USA was explicitly founded as a secular state where religion should have no business, by businessmen who thought little good of religion except as a tool for social control for the dumb masses. The only God of the real state religion was the Dollar.
