I mean, I've currently got a theory that Outis may be a disgraced Arbiter. She wears the same earing that Binah and Zena did, shares a VA with Binah, makes the same faces that Arbiters make, A Corp could be the equivalent of Athena in the story, and Dante is not allowed to look into her past when he's able to look into someone like Mearsualt and Yi Sang who worked for N Corp. Assuming this is on point (We were right about Bloodfiend Don), it woukd track this massacre could be during her Canto. Edit: Another thought I just had after looking up the plot of Hell Screen (Ryoshu's source material for those unaware). There’s certainly a chance this could be the Intervallo before Canto 9 or early in Canto 9. In Hell Screen, the artist Yoshihide (Ryoshu) is painting a picture of the Buddhist Hell, but he can only paint what he has seen, in the book this leads to him needing to burn someone alive to finish the painting which ends up as teh book's climax. But this means Ryoshu will have needed to have seen hell to start painting, hence this massacre.

I have a theory for a while now. Dante has been very hands off with stopping the sinners from breaking down, only really doing something when they are at their lowest, even allowing Heath to distort. And while this has been working until now, what happens when their lowest is basically a natural disaster? Ryoshu has been hyped up as the strongest sinner for a while now, also the most destructive, and also very quick to give up if you have notice. So if during her Canto she is brough to her lowest I can totally see her Distorting into a district destroying entity. My theory is Ryoshu will distort and quickly spread damage way being way too strong for the sinners to deal with and Dante will have to somehow rewind time, not just the sinners but real time a couple minutes in order to try and stop Ryoshu from distorting.

@ i dont have a source for this but someone did say they have plans for limbus to run for 10 years (dont take this as gospel though because delays can happen) if purgatorio and paradiso have a canto for each sinner like inferno we’ll have 39 cantos in total, not including intervallos (in that case the number will go up to around 75) honestly im not the biggest fan of limbus being 75 chapters long, it might be book accurate but at that point we’d know all there is to know about the city and how it works, which leaves little wiggle room for upcoming games

I feel like your theory kinda falls apart when you realize the last 7 Cantos took place in the course of a single year. The only reason Canto V canonically took so long was because of the travel time going from U Corp to the Outskirts and back, mixed with time spent by LC . There was DAYS if not WEEKS of off-screen travel between actual events during that Canto because of the immense scale of it. At the pace we're currently going at, I'd imagine we'll probably be at June 985 towards the end of Inferno-- possible even Canto 12 or 13, as opposed to by Ryoshu's Canto.

My current cook on the June985 massacre will be that Canto 8 will be in H corp, then 9 in G corp, leading into our big crescendo event as Canto 10 we make our way into N corp for Meursault's canto as June hits, and something happens there that creates the massacre, followed by us making a cut through F corp (Outis, smoke war combatant) into L corp for Faust, then out of the City through V corp (canto 13?) as we finish Inferno and make our way towards Purgatorio and the Outskirts

Narratively, it makes sense for Dante to kickstart the story into Purgatorio by bringing an apocalypse at the end of Inferno (Canto 12/13) I think Canto 9 is too early for the full massacre, but maybe we get massive Dante/Limbus lore drop related to Fingers (because of ryoshu’s finger imagery) and there’s a small disaster, something like the half impacts in Eva movies that’s caused by Dante

Personally I'm betting on Ryoshu being either the Purple Tear or Binah. PT due to the potential for her having a child due to her story origin, B for both of them being sadistic monsters, and Faust being whichever one Ryoshu isn't. While an RM ID would be cool, if we're talking character traits I'd say Don Quixote has it in the bag due to going from idealism to jaded, and the EGO itself is very fitting for a bloodfiend. Though if the requirement is "not a pipsqueak" then Rodion could also fit the "hometown hero betrayed by her hometown" backstory.

One theory I remember hearing was about how Meursault's story is going to be split into separate parts about himself: one where we learn about Meursaults background and another where we see the chapter from his point of view as the Sinners fight to the Center of N Corp, where the story ends with him awakening his ego and possibly sacrificing his life to save Dante while also fighting off some sort of embodiment of Carmen's influence from taking advantage of his powered state. And considering how Meursault is about following the company's orders, I could see that happening as a sort of true finale chapter.

I have a theory as to how this could work. Night in the backstreets, 3:13-4:34 AM is the time when sweepers come out, and all taboos that apply to a district's backstreets are disabled. However, people in the backstreets still live, due to one rule/taboo the head put in place. No damage to property, whether vandalism or invasion, is to be done during this time. If anyone breaks this rule, they'll get a very unfriendly visit from a claw. This makes it so that if you stay inside, you'll be safe. I guess someone could still kill you? But they won't last for long if they do. However, lets say, hypothetically, the head randomly issues a statement that this taboo is no longer active. Even if just for a night, the death toll would be MASSIVE as nowhere in the backstreets would be safe, not even indoors. Could even lead to the reason we're going to encounter sweepers in the intervallo, as the bus we drive around in is considered a "residence" and therefore off limits from sweepers/syndicates during night in the backstreets, unless the taboo is no longer active.

@justlikedarksouls35 I'm not saying we're at the peak of sotc, but the fact of the matter is, we are better than the W-Corp cleanup crews at Lv 40, and have gone up to Lv 50 now. Bamboo Hat Kim was also Urban Nightmare, and his distortion is fought at Level 40 and defeated twice. We are only one Canto away from being twice the level as we were when we fought Ricardo, and only two cantos away from being as strong or stronger than most of these bloodfiends in their prime.

I don't think that number is the population of the city because 1) the city isnt big, it has a radius of like 80KM-90KM 2) it is stated that the backstreets of I corp had 375000 people during the massacre of the pianist (80% of the population died which was about 300k ppl), now remember, the backstreets are VERY overcrowded, but let's be generous and assume the nest only has half of the population of the backstreets and take I corp's backstreet as an average since it's not the size of giants like R corp or Y corp but not small like A corp, which leaves us to: 375000*25 backstreets + (375000/2) * 25 nests, which leaves us at 14,062,500 people in the city. now if we look at the map, you can very faintly see some numbers and 2 letters infront which I assume indicate kilometers, by which we can tell the city's about 380000km² now if we look at the real world, Zimbabwe has a population of 14.8million people and is about 390k km², which is basically the city, so either the size shown in the map is wrong or the population shown in the map is terribly off

The city is a city, not a country like Zimbabwe. It's going to have a MUCH higher poulation density, especially accounting for sweepers, who are human and would count.

​​@@jacobpamplin6449while that is a fair point there are more crowded areas than others. eg: S corp is the farming district, so even with all the technology I dont think it has the same density as W corp, who is known for cannibalism in my eyes because of the amount of people. hell, P corp's whole thing is their buildings, so I'm sure theyre living in a situation like Hong Kong where it is overcrowded as hell another thing is: it wouldn't make sense for the city to be only a city inside a state inside a country, since we know there is the city, the outskirts and the ruins, and we don't know what lies beyond the ruins (don't quote me on that but i remember someone stating that the city is humanity's last bastion but i can't for the life of me remember who or where that was said)

even aside from aspects like city density, PMs map is known for being off, because their general measurements in art is ALWAYS off. any time the sinners have a mugshot or are lined up, its incredibly obvious how distorted the scale is, with the ruler being like double of what it should be KJM doesnt know measurements and thats... ok ig. obviously the city is way bigger, because there is no way it is as small as that

I highly doubt something that significant would be treated as just a simple "intervalo." It seems more likely to be the final chapter of Inferno or the first chapter of Purgatorio. As for the timeframe between currently released cantos, I don't think its a reliable metric. Using anime logic, they could condense Ryoshu, Mersault, Outis, and Faust's cantos timeframe into events occurring over consecutive days within one or two in universe weeks if the devs want to. For example, in JoJo Part 5, the entire adventure takes place over the place of like 3 days.
