Its nice they have a setting where you can pick lower ping lobbies or faster match making. I think the crazy ping is everyone hopping back on because of the announcement. Also ideas to grow the channel maybe a GOW podcast talking all things Gears. High level Gears talk from a champion at the game. I think the day ones would like that and would be dope for new fans just discovering Gears.

They are probably using u.s. servers to test the new game and putting a lot of people on overseas servers if the few u.s. ones are already full.

I’ve noticed the same thing during the development of other games for other franchises. They could be using multiple servers just for eday and funneling everyone to the west coast. Ping is the time it takes for your network to connect to the server. If you have consistent internet speeds on your end you can know exactly what server you’re playing on simply based off ping. I almost never connect to my closest server. Maybe 1 out of 15 games

Omg! I’m from the UK and the past few nights I’ve been on Gears my ping has been higher than ever like 200-300! Never been on ping like that before I’m normally below 10! Had to restart my Xbox numerous times to bring my ping down!

I like how you mix up the playstyle with the sniper. You can watch 100x Gears vids and they'll all be 80% cover dance, shotgun with the other 20% being special weapons/grenades. I hope the new gears divvy's up the maps and weapons to make the Magnum/DMR and other weapons more viable. (More like Halo?)

Idk if it’s because I’m on the newest Xbox and it doesn’t run very well on it or if I to have to go back down to the 360 so it plays better. Because when I was playing gears 3 ten years ago I don’t remember it being this laggy, I mean holy fuck!! 🤣🤣

I've had a problem with finishing a ranked game and trying to start another but it keeps me in the last games lobby I literally have to wait for the creating lobby to pop up and then have to back out then join again to get into a lobbly

More than likely that player counts have spiked. Servers will be scalable and if the high player counts persist they'll probably justify the cost of more capacity.

I think a gears 1-3 run before E-Day or right before the release would be cool. A walk through memory lane with how you felt playing during those times playing in the prime. Possibly play with viewers? Idk how the old games work tho, been a while.

I agree with icy on this matter. I generally have low ping and lose those matches to players with higher ping. Not sure why I don’t get that low ping effect. But it seems I get chunked 90 percent of the time in shotgun battles and when I have higher ping in the 25-50 area I’m on equal playing ground. Anything higher than that I just get ready for anything.

Look up DNS settings change your server to Google servers and you can always set it back to automatic if it doesn't give you a better ping

jus bought gears 5 after not playing it since its beta i think, i didnt like how the gunplay felt when it first came out but i heard it was just a bad launch. Eday got me geeking out so jus got ultimate edition gears 5 for 15 bucks on steam and im hype. Jus hope the game isnt dead

Icy why your wall bouncing do you hold down the LT button so you get the shot off quicker and I noticed when you bounce with LT it feels like you have a little more control because you move slower and you can get a more accurate shot or do you just bounce and then press LT when you're about to shoot

TC is for sure using the gow 5 servers for testing on a new game, and when they do it there’s no MMR lol I think it’s pretty odd how they don’t make an announcement about it but it gives me hope that we’re getting a multiplayer beta of some sort soon.

My guess is that the NA servers were all down yesterday, and everyone was on the EU servers. The pings everyone had aligned with that @12:58. Why were the NA servers down? E-day load testing, perhaps????

It really could be a server up overload with ti many people on it due to the hype of e-day or they really could be testing something most of the time it’s to many people on the servers also try something different maybe a walkthrough of some of the campaigns with a friend and see how it goes it doesn’t hurt to trying something different also not sure if you do this but you could host games with fans and record it to see what team wins

Truly i hope gears 6 finds a way to bring in new people without making the game like gears 5 is i recommend gears 6 find a balance between how gears 2 and 3s movement is. where if you an og since gears one insane wallbouncing isnt a necessity or bother but rather it supports both wallbouncers and the more methotical gears 1/2 style where aim, strafing and rodie strafing kinda matters more than wallbouncing. Though i also dont mind them have a mode like how gears 5 had at one point where its a gears 1 style mode where you cant cancel your wall animation i personally enjoyed that too. Another thing is i hope gears 6 introduces something like if you like marcus and the locust grenadier for examples you can switch armor pieces or earn pieces like how in gear 5 hitting the final rank gives you a character and overall i did enjoy the choices in executions for gears 5 but i didnt like the bloodsprays at all and finally bring back the gears 2/3 type of gore
