“I don’t know if fixing this will be a high priority” is the exact sentiment I’ve come to really hate about modern Blizzard. This build, despite being powerful, is fundamentally broken on so many levels as you pointed out. When you make any build these days - it’s a legitimate question to first wonder “Will everything even work like it’s supposed to?” and that fucking sucks. I know and hope you didn’t phase it intentionally like this but this level of bugginess shouldn’t get a pass because the build ends up being strong despite it. A new featured build having 4-5 pretty big issues should be a top priority since it’s the new season of its inception.

@@MacroBioBoi Can you please let them know Memento Mori passive is still bugged after so long Sacrificing any 3 golem options doesn't grant 20-60% extra bonus. Essence regen from shadow mage sac doesn't work either (max essence does). Rest of the sacs work fine with the passive

I'll admit, I was pretty excited for this build at first, and to see Bone Spear come back. That lustre pretty quickly faded as I remembered how much I don't like multiple aspects and mechanics of the playstyle, while having now to additionally jump through the bone prison hoop further tarnished that lustre. But, mostly, I just really dislike the design space of Indira's Memory--we already have a native, overpower-based Blood projectile build: Blood Lance. I just don't understand the design philosophy of making the bone projectile skill tap into all the mechanics of the blood projectile skill, and, oh, by the way, it's now at least as good as, if not decently better than, the native blood projectile skill.

Ok I'm not going crazy, I assembled this build for speed farming in T4 and this makes so much sense. Got stuck in T3 with Sever, switched to Blood Wave and instantly 1-popped T4 Durial but was so slow to farm pit/dungeons/etc. I feel like build diversity is at an all time low, at least for necro.

Build diversity is awful. I got so excited to shadow bone storm affliction but got to T4 and it's a limp noodle storm

@@SonOfJustice damage is fine, you're gonna clear pit 120 comfortably. survivability is questionable since you're not getting the health back from indira's. Until Ring of Mendeln & Blood Spear gets fixed, blood wave is gonna be the most comfortable.

I did feel like something about the build was off, now I see why! I have pretty much all ancestrals, good visage/indiras, a false death chest and still just couldnt figure out why I was struggling to pilot it consistently (Not having a doombringer is a big issue looks like). As always your dedication is awesome and appreciated man, your videos are always worth the watch.

This is what I did whole evening yesterday. I tried to figure out why so many things just not working. It looks like I got an overpower shots only in a case I am inside of bone prison...its ridiculous. So yeah, this build is bugged for now. Thank you for putting in the time researching this. It's nice to have confirmation to what I've felt playing this build this season. The life loss from Indira's Memory and needing to constantly chug health potions has felt like pure jank. Probably going to shelf D4 again until next season.

I just switched to bone spear because I was tired of blood wave and I wondered why sometimes my dmg are trash : Seriously Macroboi you are godly . You found 2 major bugs on necro. I don’t understand how the hell the devs are working but we hope a patch is coming

Thanks for the great work as usual, I tried this build with the Armory because I wanted a "no-brain" option for speedfarming that didn't require any positioning and could be cast while constantly running/evading (blood wave is great but you do need to pickup orbs or cast corpse explosion and it's not as brainless for solo hordes in particular) and it felt really off, so I rolled a no-snapshot dance of knives rogue. Will definitely give it another shot when the bugs are fixed, I miss pre-season1 bone spear.

Great video mac. I knew something was up but quiet franky i was having fun with the build regardless. It can be difficult to build into and with the witch powers of this season the cycle makes it work better than having to put so much lucky hit on the gear. With that said i believe its the developers refusing to un-nerf ossified essense from season 2 to give true bone spear fans the power back and un-nerfing bone graft legendary node.

I really wanted to try this build, I put an early version together without Doombringer, and I kept dying when I should have been outhealing the 10% drain. It's nice to know I wasn't going crazy and it's just because of a bug. A shame though, I love the visuals of the build, but I don't have Doombringer so I can't really use it currently.

My biggest confusion really comes from that fact that they added all this stuff for Bone Spear, but they could have done this with Blood Lance instead. Bone Prison could have been a Blood skill, and lances dealth extra damage or always overpowered when inside the prison etc. Feels crazy that they added all this stuff- without testing any of it 🤦🏻‍♂️ feels like a last minute change to me

darn... i chose to play necro this season to try the blood spear build after seeing this unique previewed before the season start. Having fun anyway as I was playing blood lance and just switched to blood surge to try that. My next experiment was going to be blood spear since I recently got the unique pants but I guess I'll go to blood wave next. Enjoying blood surge for the first time though still so have a ways to run with it before I want to switch.

Ugh, not one of those D4 bad guys and I still like to play it, but one thing I cant get arround complaining about (aside from general Blizzard business ethics) are the many bugs that make builds dysfunctional or not function as intended, the very slow bug fixing rate and most egregiously already fixed builds returning being bugged.

I guess, we have blood lance with not one, but two aspects that create more lances that don’t overpower when the one from the original cast does overpower, making them almost useless and a loss of power, and no one can tell me this is supposed to be this way, because if it’s supposed this way, it’s even worst. The overpower and the necromaner when come to launch spear of lance have some problem😅

It took you 6 hours to figure out all these bugs and note it all. Lets say 8 hours. A multi billion dollar company couldn't figure this out with an army of dev's.. The turn around of GGG sorting out bugs/etc vs D4 is actually insane. (GGG has banged out amazing QoL patches along with bug fixes).

I was collecting gear towards playing this build but don't think I"ll bother unless it is fixed. Is there a fun build-not blood wave-that I could try. I'm using the blood wave to play atm but don't find it fun. Find a mob, stand still, use blood wave, collect orbs and move on. A bit flat.

There is also a weird thing when I exit bloodmist, seems I don't get crit chance boost and my dmg is overall nerfed by like.. 75% on the next skill I cast or possibly the next few seconds. I swear bloodmist on exit nerfs my character by 75%.

Speaking of things doesn't work: Using aspects of Ultimate Shadow to turn Bone Storm into Drakness skill There would be a tag but it bugs with the skills - Reaper's Pursuit. Then nothing will be calculated to Darkness 😅

I tried this build with mythics and 4ga items full maxed and definitely is buggy,cant even farm tributes t4,plus having to set up a prison to trap enemies to do dmg sucks and if they aren’t trapped you do zero dmg which mostly times aren’t trapped trust me

Nice findings here as usual, watched the live yesterday at work, got entertained on the first part héhé (i'm french canadian), thanks. yesterday lucky drop : a 4ga indiras ! nice, i really wanted to play them, until i died constantly. i thought using subo's ability to drop potions and live my life just as a drunken rogue, but then i successfully rolled lucky hit to heal on gloves and a ring to survive the pants, with the node that gives more healing % (powerhouse on bloodbath). and i do just barely fine.. life drain on an overpower item is sort of a contradiction honestly. but i still appreciate the build especially those red explosions, i still have a good time playing the indiras. i dont think going back to blood wave for now, the backtracking for orbs is too much a downside for me. thanks !

Don't worry, they will fix the bugs next season and then nuke the build into oblivion so that no one wants to play it anyways. Blizzard doesn't care about a season once its launched. They will do the absolute basic amounts of patches because everyone is working on the next 2 seasons and the next expansion.
