This is very timely. I currently work a cushy office job that pays well, yet I am planning on making the leap to work for myself soon (sitting at a desk all day isn't for me). Making that leap means I will be making just enough to get by for awhile. I know it's going to sound crazy to all my peers because I'm doing "well" by all the modern metrics (money), but I'm not fulfilled in the slightest from my work (the opposite actually). Time for a change. This video was a good reminder that I need to continue to work hard and trust in the Lord. Thank you good sir.

As a young man whos recently gotten into the actual working world, and is still figuring out what I "want to do" as a career, this video was so great to watch. Ive always been against the vain dopamine spending, always focused on saving. But this video solidified that.

@@Tavis2629 that’s why I’m not a huge fan of careers. Jobs come and jobs go, as long as you are making an effort to provide that’s all that matters. Too many people stake their whole identity in a “career” and miss out on life

Hey Larry, I got an 04 Ford Ranger, it’s beat up for sure cause it’s my daily driver. Wouldn’t mind a nice new truck, but my ranger is paid for. Can’t beat that. I’ve got no problem spending money on repairs to it, cause it’s cheaper to fix than buy! Good message and it’s a good thing someone is talking about it. Carry a Stanley to work myself, it’s a lunch box size in blue, cause blue makes the coffee taste better!

Your comments on how we should get married younger and how it can help give us priorities, purpose, and drive is something that I have realized too. I am grateful that my fiancé and I have found each other as it has allowed me to give myself more of a purpose in my own working life. Before we got engaged I had doubts about my career choices and have had some major downs. But now as we get closer to starting this new chapter in our lives, none of those choices feel as important to me as my main priorities I have now. I feel a much greater drive to work hard and provide along side her and for our future family. Thanks for the consistently insightful talks, I always enjoy listening

@@tusseydaniel1 first of all, I would make sure that you enjoy working on technical machines and have the patience for troubleshooting. HVAC is an interesting industry because you were dealing with mechanical equipment so you have to learn a lot of troubleshooting and mechanical functions as well as basic construction concepts. It can be very rewarding as a job but also it can get kind of frustrating and complicated. It just depends on what kind of work you enjoy doing.

I hustled and a decade later, I am educated and burnt out. After a series of events, I lost my job. For some reason, I am happier than ever. I have no desire to go back into an office environment! I don't want to work. I don't want to work in an office, to make some dickhead richer, and spend more time with coworkers I cant stand instead of with my kid. Maybe I am having a midlife crisis. These days I work to better my land, family ties, and for myself. How am I going to make money after unemployment? Great question... No idea. But I finally feel the real me coming through and I do not want to lose that or sacrifice anymore time I spend with my kid. For the first time in my life I really don't have a plan. It feels frickin great. I will figure the rest as I go and have to.

Do you feel like being a stay at home dad is respectable? It’s what’s working for my family right now, but I know a lot of people would think less of me for it. I want to homeschool my kids and be here for them. I’m creating a homestead and I want to have good values for my kids.

@@improvingISAAC I know some people might look down upon you because you’re not out working to provide for the financial needs of the family. But I think that people need to have more grace and realize that everyone situation in life is different. If you didn’t want to work at all to improve your family, that’s one thing but sometimes life demands that you take a different route and go against what is normal for society. So staying at home is the best thing for your family, then that’s what you should do. As long as your family respects you and looks up to you as a leader of the household, that’s all that matters
@improvingISAAC

@ thank you, I appreciate that. Me going to work and putting the kids in daycare to make that possible is nonsense. I’m prepared to take the responsibility if it comes to that and work since my wife has provided for the last little while. I’m sure I missed out of a lot of dumb mistakes I could have made because I found the girl I needed and we have started the family I always wanted. 🙏 god bless
