A child that knows how to express how he feels and what he wants, at such young age... and parents that listen and respect it... melts my heart 😭. Sandy, Mopani, great job guys ❤❤❤

One of the most precious displays of emotional awareness and intelligence in a child his age that I’ve ever seen. Kobe is learning to set healthy boundaries, and you are teaching him to respect those boundaries. That said, if he were my child, I’d kiss him whenever I please. I couldn’t resist. My days to freely kiss him would be over soon, and I wouldn’t miss one of them. This is also an opportunity to teach Kobe about the meaning of love.

We must all learn and know that "NO" means "NO". Learning this (appropriate TOUCH) yourself and teaching your children this is one of the most important lessons a person can ever learn and practice. I always taught my children that they should not touch or put their hands on anyone and vice versa without permission. Thank you Kobe. Dad, please be accepting of Kobe's feelings in order for him to be respectful of yours. Talking openly about how we feel is the starting point.

Mr. Mopani, thank you for this demonstration of respecting your son’s innate boundary. My father (an amazing hugger) once told me when I was very young that if anyone ever made me feel uncomfortable to tell a trusted adult. He was a police officer who had seen many things and I remember him emphasizing (even if it is me). He was informing me that no adult or authority had agency over what felt like a personal violation to me. That internalized experience gave me a voice and an understanding that I could communicate my needs and that they would be respected. Thankfully, this pearl of wisdom prevented a potential problem when I was age 12. Your children listen to the lessons you teach, especially the ones taught in love.

Awe, my heart broke for dad. I've been there dad, mine told me I could only kiss them on their cheek. Kids probably teasing him at school when you kiss him in front of them. He's growing up. He's going to be jealous when you pour all that love into the new baby 😊 don't worry, dad, he'll be back.

Adults need the kisses and hugs more than children. There's something inside them that feels repelled by it most times particularly if it is the adults initiating it. Their spontaneous show of love is worth more than gold. Truly you don't need kisses and hugs to show you love them. They instinctively feel and know when they are loved, also kissing them on the lips is something that should be avoided at all costs. It's not healthy, cheek maybe but occasionally. Great lesson for dad from Kobe and I hope you got it. Children live more in the Substantiate world of what we adults call " make believe " but trust me, that world actually exist for them and adults who are childlike. Please respect his wishes even if you don't understand it !

Maybe if you do it once on the cheek is maybe ok. He just doesn't want you to smothered him with kisses all the time. Maybe you do it too much? Not sure. Kobe needs his space..lol

Did you see the one where he pushed Daddy Mopani out of the bedroom and closed the door giggling. Mopani was shocked and telling him, "You're not a teenager yet."😂 My son said that to me when he was around that age. He came to me one day and said, "Mommy, will you love me even if I'm naughty?" I assured him by telling him, "Mommy will always love even if you're naughty but not love the naughty thing you did."

Sounds like this coming from school or child minders because they see you hug him all the time and so somebody said something because they don't get hurt and kissed all the time but it's okay It breaks your heart when they first say it to you but it'll be okay I know which is a 13 and April they don't know who you are that's the point that I am right now😂
