The NBA was founded in 1946. It did not begin with large player contracts! It's unfortunate that the wnba has been a subsidized league and expects the men to become fans and support it. Men are useless, huh? Until you need their money. If you want the fans (mostly male) to come then dunk, do fast breaks, play well (no sloppy midschool play yard crap) and they will come. lol look at hollywood and the gaming industry trying to 'woke' gender everything (and making every1 want to puke in the process) by doing remakes of males superhero movies by replacing the lead player with a talentless female... The Barbie&Ken movie: Ken got oscars and barbie didn't because the male "best friend who never gets any credit" role was just so well played and resonated with audiences sooooooo much more than the dumb barbie entitlement fake-victim story-line 😛 The dude that played Ken should really play Batman's Robin in the next movies, to cash in on the premis set here They'll complaign that Hollywood is still a male-dominated industry that doesn't write any good parts for women... But do you know what 'women for women' TV looks like: soap opera's about random affairs and constant infighting due to toxic gossip and petty jealousies, and only the saddest specimens of the female kind watch those after all 😛 The only field of entertainment that scores well on female representation is the book-industry, and it has an over-representation... When it comes down to using 2-3 pages to describe a room(that doesn't even exist outside of their fantasy land) and what some1 is wearing, female authors are naturals at it :-p When it comes down to making plot driven thrillers that really get the ball rolling, go read Alfred Hitchcock or Stephen King 😛 Not to mention that 25% of the female authors specialize in feminist man-hating literature😖 They should stop playing the fake victim while selfishly just doing whatever they want to do or feel like... If they want real succes rates, they should just work to improve the quality of their works, ya know like cater to the audience 😛

Not to mention how women are more prone to get murdered, stalked, and other horrible stuff because we're the weaker gender. Women are not physically equal to men, even with dr*gs and everything else. He and I basically do the same job, the main difference is that sometimes he works longer hours, does everything and anything to keep things running smoothly, and has a laser sharp focus on what he is doing and does it real fast like there is no tomorrow. On the other hand, I have difficulty focusing even with music, I am more laid back because I prefer accuracy over speed, and I like to pause and check the overall status of my environment and help others as needed. I am grateful to have him as a teammate because he doesn't mind taking over if I need help and I try to help him whenever I can (quietly because his pride can be quite fragile)

@@dxmxrxsbxxckthxwxxdxlf3931 I can relate, I have had a similar experience with one of my closest friends since childhood. We are both in the IT field. However, this is definitely his calling where as for me I am here because I fell into it and stuck around due to the job stability and room for career growth. For me it is definitely something I do to pay the bills. If there was not a company paying me to do this, I would not be doing it at all on my free time. But he has been playing around with this stuff as a hobby since the age of 13. When I am off work in the evening I detach from it completely, and focus on what actually brings me joy. During his evenings he is still consumed by his job. He is constantly trying to think through problems he is having at work during the evening, doing additional research, and even working late into the night unnecessarily. He just tells me the work needs to get done, and is basically consumed by it most of the time. Because of this difference in passions I am completely on board with him making more money than me in this field. I do my job, have good metrics and have good reviews. But I do not live for this the same way he does, because of this his free time is used for work as well which pushes his knowledge and abilities to the next level. It would be crazy for me to expect to make the same amount of money as someone who brings as much value to a company as he does, if anything him being rewarded for all of this extra effort is a good indicator that if I ever became obsessed with it there is that much further I can climb on the totem pole of our career. People bring different things to the table, but compensation and rewards should always be merit based, not equal just to protect feelings.

I work at a sports bar and it’s a running joke among the managers and bartenders that no one cares about women’s sports, especially women. I can count on one hand how many times we’ve been asked to change a TV to a women’s game, and it’s all been men who are asking😅

Omg yesssss! My son (who is only 9 yrs old) was so excited a few weeks ago about the USA soccer team competition for the CONCACAF. And I was like hell yeah let's watch all the games. And then he mentioned "Oh it's the women's soccer team btw". And suddenly I was less excited and interested. But he didn't care. He loves soccer, so he still watched all the games. Men's teams, imo, are just more exciting.

I love nba because (I personally) think it is more entertaining and fun to watch. Like WNBA MIGHT do 1 dunk every couple games. NBA dunks every where. My mom was like “it’s so hard being a female sports player! Look at the pay gap!!” I said: WHICH ONE HAS MORE VIEWERS? The WNBA was not very interesting and I tried watching one game and I was underwhelmed. Instead of all these feminists complaining about the pay gap in women and men’s sports, actually WATCH WNBA. I bet half of those commenters can’t name 10 WNBA players. This is absolutely ridiculous 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I’m not sure if I agree with how the title is worded- I don’t think women should necessarily be paid less, but, if they want to be paid more, then they must earn it. Look at the highest paid female actresses, music stars, models, etc.- they get paid more because they can bring eyeballs to concerts, movies, products, etc. They aren’t paid more BECAUSE they are women, they get paid more because they have earned the right to be paid more. Basically, they have the ability to make money for other people. That’s how things go. 🤷‍♂️

There are currently no rules excluding women from participating in the NBA. If she wants to get paid an NBA salary, she can try out for the NBA. Best of luck. I'd even ask them to name 2 teams in the WNBA or even what the WNBA team from their state is without Googling it. It's almost certain that a large majority of these people couldn't answer any one of those. CC is already paid. The only bad thing that comes from this whole thing is how many WNBA players there are showing loads of distain, and sometimes pure disrespect, for Caitlin Clark. They’re saying things like she’s not really that good, she doesn’t deserve her status because her team never won a national championship, and even her college records are illegitimate. This woman has brought more attention to women’s basketball than any other player, exactly what the WNBA players “want” for their league, and they’re doing nothing to help for this grand opportunity.

What made it interesting was the circumstances, not necessarily the game play. Now that she's in the WNBA, I'm not interested and will not be watching women's NCAA either. The minimum salary for a NHL player is $700,000 ... compare to lacrosse ... the salary cap in 2018 was $415,000 for the entire TEAM.
