5:55 are those curling, underdeveloped pitchers because of aphid damage? my garbage kit did that a lot and i wondered why...

I’m sure they do but it wouldn’t enough to give them all the nutrients they need from the soil. Since the soil they grow in is so poor in nutrition, they had to evolve into carnivores.

I just kinda stumbled on your channel, and binged your carnivorous plant videos. And while I don't think I'd ever grow a Venus flytrap (cause touching them seems so gross to me for some reason idk why), I think growing one of those pitcher ones would be fun. I'm just curious, but you find that they help with general mosquito control?

They don’t really catch mosquitoes. They’re not attracted to the colors and nectar. Carnivorous plants aren’t the good for pest control.

What kind of sundews do you recommend that need a dormancy period? I live in NC and I’m just starting to get into carnivore plants.

Intermedia, rotundifolia, filliformis, hybrida, even some forkleaf varieties like dichotoma.
