Actually..I watched the entire show SIXTEEN...somi was really young and the most popular out of all the contestants....she was hella popular at that time. JYP said he was not going to debut her with twice becuz he thought her popularity would over power the entire grp...he Actually said this..this is another main reason he didn't chose her along with her being too young.. but then ended up choosing tzuyu who was even younger, mostly due to her being the most beautiful visual and getting highest votes for that...although now even tzuyu improved a lot!

It's normal to lip sync or not sing live specially she's a soloist she carried the song all by herself and it's very exhausting plus she's also dancing. It's her debut stage so its better to set up good image first before singing live with no full chance of singing it perfectly. Also she's not that a good singer, like she got the voice but its hard to sing all by yourself
